• What is a Billfish Slam?

The Billfish Slam is a fishing challenge where anglers attempt to catch three or more species of billfish consisting of Atlantic blue marlin, Pacific blue marlin, black marlin, white marlin, striped marlin, Atlantic sailfish, Pacific sailfish, swordfish, and spearfish. Location is the biggest factor in attempting a billfish slam with the Pacific Ocean having six possible species while the Atlantic Ocean has only five. This is also one of the most difficult slams due to the size and strength of these fish. The best places to attempt the billfish slam would be Hawaii or Florida because of their access to prime pelagic feeding grounds.
