Deep dropping is similar to bottom fishing with a baited hook and weight attached to the line which is used to reach the bottom but in much deeper water. The extreme depths require the use of heavy weights that can range from 8oz to 5 pounds and larger reels with more line capable of dropping baits thousands of feet below the surface.
