Hi, my name is Captain Alex. I was born and raised here in Destin, Florida. I first started working and fishing on boats when I was 12 years old, helping out aboard the Silver King. I took a hiatus from the Silver King to mate for another charter for 3 years in Venice, Louisiana before returning back to Destin. When I returned, I got my Captains License and started driving the boat for the old owner of the Silver King. I did that for almost 8 years, before deciding to buy it from him when I turned 27, and finally become a business owner. What a dream it has become! I absolutely love what I do and I can show you that when you come fishing with me. I can promise you I want to catch fish more than you do, and I will always put forward the necessary effort to try to make your trip on the water as magical and memorable as possible. Fishing is all I’ve ever done, and I plan on doing this the rest of my life!

I do trips ranging from 4 hours all the way up to 8 hour trips. 4-5 hours is more for beginners or families will small kids. Plenty time to catch a bunch of fish, but not too long for the kids. 6 hours is the most popular trip, giving us time to do both trolling and bottom fishing. And 7-8 hour trips are popular as well, which is for guests really looking to bring some fish home and fill the freezer!

I provide all rods, reels, tackle and I filet all fish we catch to bring home at the dock. All you need to bring is sunscreen and any food or drinks you might need.

How did you get started guiding?

My grandfather got me into fishing, then my dad got me a hook up with a captain in Destin, and from their, just worked my way up, from 12 years old being a deckhand, to turning 18, getting my captains license and driving a boat for a business, to now owning that business myself. I am blessed!

What makes you different from other guides?

I would say that I will 100% put all my effort into making sure your trip is everything you wanted. I am also very, very good with kids. I have the patience and always enjoy watching their faces light up when they are reeling in a fish! One of the best part of my jobs is working with kids and making dreams come true for them!!

What a great trip and experience. First deep sea fishing trip for my 11 year old boy. Capt. Alex was friendly, knowledgeable and made the trip very enjoyable for myself and my boy. Captain Alex was great. It's been a rainy week in FL, and he was able to squeeze us in. He knew all of the spots. Multiple people had mentioned not catching anything the day we went out, and our group caught our maximum limit. We've concluded in order to have a great fishing experience you need the right captain, Alex is just that. We even were able to go shark fishing for about an hour and caught two sharks. Alex was easygoing, kept us safe, accommodated us, and made should we had a great experience. Next time we are back we definitely will be using Alex!
