Independent Guide

Born in Maui and raised between Hawaii and Japan, Shanti grew up with a deep respect for nature and a strong cultural connection to the islands. After high school, he moved to Oahu and fell in love with the ocean, launching a career in the boat tour industry at just 18.

Over the next 12 years, Shanti worked his way from crew member to captain, and eventually to company president. His passion grew from witnessing the emotional impact of marine wildlife encounters—especially swimming with dolphins. Inspired to create his own experience-driven tours, he purchased his first boat in 2022 and made his dream a reality.

When he’s not on the water with guests, Shanti is a skilled spearfisherman who values sustainability and sharing what the ocean provides with friends and family. Every trip he leads is rooted in authenticity, connection, and a deep love for Hawaii’s marine life.

The search for dolphins begins as we scan the water for fins or splashing. We keep detailed logs of all our Dolphin sightings and work with other boats to cover the entire coastline. Once we spot the dolphins, it’s time to jump in! Our captain will position us for the best dolphin encounter.
