About Your Trip
Join Captain Mark for a premier multi day offshore and marsh fishing experience aboard the Southern Cross, a custom 54 foot aluminum Breaux Bay Craft sportfisherman designed specifically for extended stays on the water and serious time in the fish. This is a true Louisiana coastal fishing adventure built for small groups who want access to some of the most productive and remote fisheries in the Gulf, including Chandeleur Island, the Biloxi Marsh, and Cat
Island.
The Southern Cross serves as a comfortable floating mothership, allowing your group to stay on location near the fishing grounds instead of wasting valuable time running back and forth to shore each day. With the guide boat stationed on site, anglers are able to cover more water, reach more remote spots, and spend significantly more time actively fishing throughout the trip.
These waters are known for incredible inshore and nearshore opportunities, with primary target species including speckled trout, redfish, triple tail, and seasonal tarpon. The barrier islands and surrounding marsh systems offer a mix of shallow grass flats, sand pockets, oyster edges, and moving tides that consistently hold feeding fish. Depending on conditions, anglers may experience sight fishing in skinny water, drifting live bait over structure, or working artificial lures along current breaks and shoreline edges.
The Southern Cross is fully equipped for private groups of up to six guests and provides comfortable overnight accommodations. Onboard features include an open sleeping configuration with bunk space, two full heads, a hot shower, a spacious salon with satellite television, and a full galley for meals and downtime between fishing sessions. After a full day on the water, guests can relax comfortably without leaving the fishing grounds.
The trip typically begins just before daybreak as your group departs the harbor aboard the Southern Cross, towing up to two fully equipped guided center console bay boats. Fishing begins immediately upon arrival at the islands, maximizing daylight hours on productive water. On the final day, anglers enjoy a morning fishing session before returning to port around midday.
Captain Mark and the guiding team bring decades of combined experience fishing the Chandeleur and surrounding barrier island systems, ensuring each trip is tailored to conditions and group goals. Their knowledge of seasonal movement, tides, and structure gives guests a strong advantage in consistently productive waters.
All bait, tackle, and fish cleaning are provided, making the experience seamless from start to finish. Guests also have the option to stay aboard the Southern Cross the night before departure for added convenience and a relaxed start to the trip.
This is a fully immersive multi day fishing experience focused on comfort, access, and nonstop action in some of the most productive waters along the Gulf Coast.
