About Your Trip
If you’re looking to cast a line and make some memories on Lake Michigan, Captain Gintas is the guide you’ve been searching for! With years of sportfishing expertise, Captain Gintas knows these waters inside and out and will give you the best chance at an action-packed day of reeling in the big ones.
Lake Michigan is home to some fantastic fishing opportunities, with species like Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), and Brown Trout
all up for grabs. Whether you’re aiming to hook a trophy fish or just enjoy a day on the water, Captain Gintas will tailor the trip to suit your goals. Trolling is the most popular technique in these waters, and with the right gear and guidance, it won’t take long to get some bites.
This trip is perfect for anglers of all experience levels, and it’s family-friendly too! If you’re bringing the kids along, it’s a great way to unplug, enjoy the lake’s beauty, and bond over the excitement of the catch. If you don’t have a child-sized life vest, be sure to check with Captain Gintas before the trip. And don’t forget to pack some snacks to keep energy levels up throughout the day!
Your fishing adventure will take place aboard a 39’ Trojan sportfishing boat, a spacious and well-equipped vessel that comfortably accommodates up to six passengers. The boat features precision downriggers to help you troll effectively, as well as an onboard toilet for added convenience. Plus, it’s wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can join the fun. Captain Gintas provides all the gear you’ll need, including high-quality rods, reels, and lures – you just need to show up ready to fish!
To make your day even smoother, a dedicated First Mate will be on board to assist with everything from setting lines to handling equipment. They’ll work hard to keep things running seamlessly, so be sure to show your appreciation with a 10–20% tip – it’s the industry standard.
Before heading out, you’ll need to purchase a local fishing license. These can often be obtained online, and Captain Gintas can point you in the right direction if needed. Keep in mind that some species may have specific regulations, so check what’s in season and what you’re allowed to keep.
For a comfortable day on the water, don’t forget to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (stick or lotion, no sprays), a hat, and plenty of water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation – a couple of beers or some wine is fine – but please avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
So, gather your friends or family and join Captain Gintas for an unforgettable day of fishing on Lake Michigan. Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, you’re in for a fun-filled adventure with plenty of fish tales to take home!
