This trip blends productive salmon fishing with a unique coastal bonus, giving you a full day on the water chasing fish and working crab pots along the way.
The day begins by setting crab pots as you head out toward the fishing grounds, adding an extra layer of coastal tradition to
the trip. Once in position, you’ll fish the rich waters of Tillamook Bay or venture offshore into the ocean when weather allows. These areas are well known for their strong salmon runs, with fish moving through channels, along tide lines, and near bait-rich structure throughout the season.
Depending on conditions, you may be trolling plugs or bait rigs through productive lanes where salmon are actively feeding. The focus is on working proven water and adjusting to fish movement as tides and bait patterns shift. When everything lines up, it is common to hook into quality salmon and work toward a full limit day on the water.
Kelly brings over 40 years of local experience fishing these waters, offering guidance throughout the trip for anglers who are new to salmon fishing as well as those looking to refine their approach. From setup to landing fish, you’ll have support every step of the way while still enjoying an active, hands-on fishing experience.
All fishing equipment is provided, making this a straightforward and accessible trip for guests of all skill levels. You will want to bring food, beverages, and rain gear, as coastal Oregon conditions can change quickly. Dressing in layers is recommended, as temperatures are often cooler on the water than on land.
A valid Oregon fishing license must be secured through the MYODFW mobile app before the trip. For added comfort, a private tented toilet facility is available upon request.
At the end of the day, the crew will pull the crab pots on the way back to the dock, giving you the chance to finish the trip with both fresh salmon and potentially fresh crab, making for a true Oregon coastal fishing experience with Kelly.
