About Your Trip
If you're looking to experience the rich inshore waters of Virginia Beach, hop aboard with Captain Zachary for an unforgettable day chasing some of the area’s most exciting game fish! Whether you're a seasoned angler or a first-time fisher just looking for a great day on the water, these trips are all about fun, flexibility, and fishing action.
Virginia Beach’s diverse fisheries mean there’s always something biting. Depending on the time of year, you could
be hooking into hard-fighting Redfish, slick and elusive Flounder, aggressive Speckled Trout, or even Largemouth and White Bass hiding out around the grassy flats and shoreline structure. There’s also a good chance of running into some Striper if the conditions line up.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 21’ Bay Stealth flats boat that’s ideal for maneuvering shallow bays, grass flats, and tight inshore spots. With room for up to 4 anglers, it’s a perfect setup for families, small groups, or even solo adventurers looking to refine their technique. The boat is equipped with all the essentials: GPS, fishfinder, a live bait well, wireless trolling motor, and an onboard ice box to keep your drinks cool and your catch fresh.
When it comes to fishing style, Captain Zachary is all about matching the method to the moment. You might be spinning, popping, or bottom fishing, and if you're up for something a little different, he can even take you jug fishing—a fast-paced, high-action style that's especially great for kids and beginners. And if you’re looking to get right down in the action, Captain Zach loves wade fishing the grassy flats in the afternoon to sight-cast for Redfish, Trout, and Flounder. It’s a peaceful yet exciting way to fish, perfect for anglers who love to get off the boat and into the environment.
Trips are available in two main flavors:
5-Hour Morning Trip (6:30 AM Start): Rise and shine with lines in the water before sunrise and fish through to midday—or until you’ve had your fill. This trip is perfect for early birds who want to take advantage of the morning bite and still have the rest of the day free.
6-Hour Afternoon Trip (3:00 PM Start): For a laid-back, scenic trip with plenty of action, head out mid-afternoon to fish the outgoing tide and chase fish into the evening. This trip offers the chance to target just about anything the bay has to offer and may even end with a relaxing stop at Blue Pete’s, a beloved local restaurant, if you’re ready to swap the rod for a fork.
Captain Zachary provides all rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait (seasonally dependent). He’ll even clean and fillet your catch back at the dock if you want to take your fresh catch home. Cold drinks are included, and you’re welcome to bring snacks, beer, or other beverages—just no hard liquor or glass bottles, please.
Before your trip, be sure to pick up a Virginia fishing license and double-check any seasonal regulations or tagging rules with Captain Zachary so you know what’s in play.
So pack your sunglasses, a hat, non-spray sunscreen, and a good attitude—Captain Zach is ready to get you out there and into the action. Whether you're wading the flats, watching a jug bounce with a bite, or just soaking in a beautiful Virginia sunrise, you’re in for a reel adventure!
