Captain Shawn has over 35 successful years of experience as a professional fisherman. He has fished all over the United States and most recently captained a 40' Bertram out of Kona Hawaii. (You can see his old boat featured as the backdrop on our checkout page!).

Captain Shawn has returned to Gulf Shores to get back to his roots, and now, the fish have no place to hide! You'll be fishing on a new 25' Shearwater, that's clean, along with his gear. You meet at Safe Harbor Seafood, which is a great experience in itself. You get to see a real fish house operation.

Captain Shawn takes pride in what he does and understands, for some their trip was an investment, so he works hard to insure you leave, getting your monies worth. Kids, no problem, he's a father himself and enjoys helping the novice, to expert, get their first big catch.

If you're looking for a fantastic way to enjoy the summer down in Gulf Shores, AL, then you're in the right place! Captain Shawn is a real pro, and has fished professionally all over the world, including a legendary run on the Kona Cowboy out of Kona, Hawaii!

The shallow inshore water here in Gulf Shores provides perfect habitat for several popular sportfish species, especially the "Big Three" of Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. There are also plenty of chances to hook Sheepshead, which share the same habitat. Whether you're a beginner or an old hand, hooking big time Redfish and Trout off the flats is absolutely thrilling, and Captain Shawn has plenty of tips and tricks to improve your fishing and put you in a position for success.

You'll be fishing aboard his 25' Shearwater center console. She's perfect for this kind of trip, and she's powered by a powerful Mercury 300-HP outboard, so you can spend less time cruising and more time fishing. The boat is equipped with a GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, and an icebox for your keepers.

When you come aboard with Captain Shawn, you'll be provided all the tackle and bait that you need. All you need to bring is food, drinks (no glass please), sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cooler for your catch. Fish cleaning is also available, so you can take home a delicious dinner!

Wow so sorry you didn’t enjoy your trip. But to say I don’t know what I am doing is so far off. Over 35yrs of a full time Captain I think I know what I am doing. Let’s start off by saying you never fished in Alabama.Next the water temperature dropped 10 degrees in a week. I finally found some smaller redfish that were tricky to catch and your 3 grandchildren that were in there 20s did catch a few. Also I spent most my of time helping one out that never fished. It’s fishing not filling your freezer every trip. So sorry you didn’t enjoy your trip. But we did catch fish during the worst time of year. We tried every spot and stayed out till we ran out of bait. And definitely don’t be afraid to book online these guys are pros and Captain experience is a well run family company that I personally took fishing and caught 3 blue marlin in one day with one over 700lbs. It’s not nice to badmouth people because you didn’t catch. And again you have never fished in Alabama.

We Loved Captain Shawn! He was patient, helpful and very engaging. If the fish weren’t biting in one spot he’d move to another. We caught a variety of species and was knowledgeable about every one we caught . He realized how excited I was to see the dolphins so he got them to jump in our waves from the boat. Every time we saw them he was sure to try to get them to interact with us. His boat was very nice and clean, you could tell he loved his boat. IT WAS AWESOME! We plan on a second trip with him to do offshore fishing next. We enjoyed his inshore trip and hospitality! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! One more thing… although we didn’t bring our 10 year old son I definitely would not hesitate to take him out on a Captain Shawn’s boat! He’s a family man, I could tell he would do great with younger passengers as well.

Capt. Shawn took our group of 4 Inland Fishing June 13th, 2023. He knows the area well, has a nice boat and provides Top of the Line Gear. Our 4 Hour trip went by way to fast as we all had a great time. The region we fished received hard rain the night before, so the Fishing started slow but picked up mid-morning and he put us on Redfish and Trout. I recommend and will definitely book another fishing charter with Capt. Shawn our next trip to the Gulf Shores area. Capt. Shawn guides both Offshore and Inland. Our next trip
will be the 6 Hour Off Shore charter for Red Snapper.
