Brendan has spent more than 15 years fishing the waters of Northern Michigan, with a particular passion for Great Lakes Smallmouth Bass.

His fishing roots started during childhood summers on Lake Charlevoix before taking him into collegiate bass tournaments at Murray State University, where he competed against and learned from anglers from around the country.

Now based in Charlevoix, Brendan combines that tournament background with years of local experience to chase smallmouth across Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Charlevoix, Burt Lake, Mullett Lake, and surrounding waters.

With a degree in Safety and Health along with First Aid and CPR certifications, Brendan puts a strong emphasis on running safe, professional trips while helping anglers learn new techniques and experience Northern Michigan's trophy smallmouth fishery.

Come experience Northern Michigan's incredible Smallmouth Bass fishery with Brendan! These trips are built around chasing quality smallmouth across the clear waters of Grand Traverse Bay, Lake Charlevoix, Burt Lake, Mullett Lake, and other productive waters along Michigan's northwest coast.

Brendan stays mobile throughout the season, choosing where to fish based on conditions and where the bite is strongest. Spring kicks off in April, when cold water concentrates prespawn fish and creates some of the year's most exciting action. Depending on the conditions, you'll target smallmouth anywhere from 2 to 40 feet deep. As fish move onto spawning areas, Brendan focuses on prespawn and post-spawn bass nearby rather than targeting fish actively on beds.

The smallmouth action heats back up in late September as cooling water pushes fish into schools and triggers an aggressive fall feed. This is a great time to hunt for some of the biggest bass of the season using techniques like swimbaits, umbrella rigs, drop shots, jerkbaits, and Ned rigs.

You'll fish aboard Brendan's 24'7" 2024 Sportsman 247 Center Console powered by a Yamaha 300. The boat is equipped with modern Garmin electronics, including LiveScope, giving you the opportunity to use the same technology and techniques Brendan brings from his tournament fishing background.

All rods, reels, tackle, and necessary fishing gear are provided, although you're welcome to bring your favorite setup. Brendan also provides bottled water, light snacks, and all required safety equipment.

Whether you're looking to learn modern smallmouth techniques or already know your way around a bass boat and want a shot at a Northern Michigan trophy, Brendan will tailor the day around your experience and goals.
