Meet Captain Steve—a shoreline specialist with over 30 years of local fishing knowledge and a lifetime of saltwater adventure. Raised in Southern California, Steve grew up immersed in the ocean lifestyle. From surfing and scuba diving to spearfishing and diving for lobster, he’s always had a deep connection to the sea. That passion for the water eventually led him to the rugged coastlines of Baja, Mexico, where he discovered a fisherman’s paradise and a true sense of wild, untamed adventure.

Now based in Longboat Key, Florida since 1992, Captain Steve brings that same spirit of discovery to every shoreline charter. We are a seasoned premier guiding service done exclusively from the Sarasota shoreline and beaches WITHOUT a boat being used. Did I mention, NO SEASICKNESS on my trips. Come join your kind and courteous guide Steve on this exciting fishing trip you’ve been looking for! Steve’s local experience, expertise and enthusiasm (30+ years fishing the Sarasota beaches 🏖️) will surely help put you on the fish at the hottest spots. Trips are designed for all skill levels from beginner to advanced with an emphasis on “learning” the local beach fishing scene and last between 2 and 4 hours. We target all the inshore species (snook, redfish, trout, pompano, sheepshead, black drum and more) that you can catch from a boat for less. In addition, large groups are welcome up to 10 persons which is not possible on most other charters due to Coast Guard rules.

Short quick trips are great for young kids or a full schedule, but still want to get your fishing in without using up your entire day.

Special beach fishing learning trips are also available along with a single angler budget friendly trip. Let me customize your fishing trip, the sky’s the limit. Feel free to bring snacks, soda and water and appropriate beach attire like swim suit, long sleeve sun protective shirts, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen to help make your day enjoyable. I bring all the needed equipment, like rods and reels, tackle, ice, cooler and ziplock bags for your filleted catch.

Captain Steve was super flexible with us when we had to make a change, and also with the rain. He communicated clearly, regularly, and well! He knew the best times and place to fish! He really moved and kept our lines baited with fresh bait and with what was good for what we were fishing for. He is a fun guy, knows his stuff, came prepared, and made the experience great! We all caught at least one fish! (Not all pictured) And, one was a keeper! He filleted it for us right there (we brought a cooler with ice). It was the best fish taco I have ever had!! We would recommend him and go fishing with him again!
