Guided by Tom Sowell
Captain Tom has been fishing the Rockport area since he was 16 years old with his grandpa who taught him most of his tricks and trades, such as drifting across the Estes flats for Redfish and Trout. From then on, Captain Tom has been hooked on saltwater fishing. Fishing is a passion of his and he's always willing to help and teach others so they can enjoy this great sport. He's also a firm supporter of taking kids fishing as he believes there's no better bond than out on the water with your children.
This trip is perfect for the angler who wants to experience the remote wilderness of Baffin Bay and its surrounding waters. On your trip, you will drift shells, coves, and a myriad of other secret locations Captain Tom has accumulated over the years consistently limiting out on trophy trout, redfish, and flounder in Baffin Bay. This trip is totally customizable to your preferences. Tom is happy to provide all the gear you need for a technique-specific trip. He provides everything you will need for your trip so all you'll need to bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, your sun protection, and your Texas fishing license, and Captain Tom will take care of the rest! I thought the trip was terrible, we did more boat riding than actual fishing, not only that we fished with dead bait for the last 1/2 of the trip. You are not going to catch a good fish with dead bait in most cases, it was a wasted fishing trip, I have been with much better fishing guides many other times. The guide fishing trip was very disappointing plus our fishing guide got sick and had to return to dock earlier than expected …
We could not ask for more from a fishing guide: courteous, informative, knowledgeable, hard working, helpful, and a great boat and gear. Capt. Tom was the best!
We had a great day fishing with Capt. Tom. Maxed out on our reds and had so much fun doing it. Can’t wait to come back again and again. Thank you Capt. Tom.
Captain Tom is awesome! Great guy and great experience. We didn’t catch but 1 red this time around but that’s just what happens when you fish. He knows his stuff-highly recommend!
Captain Tom has a great personality and is easy to get along with. He likes to move in a timely manner if the fish aren’t biting and gives helpful information and suggestions. I would definitely recommend him.
Tom took me and my two boys (10 & 8) out for a half-day trip leaving from Rockport. We had a really good time. He was very nice, and he worked great with the boys. He even had a cooler of waters and iced tea for us! Plenty of bait stocked for our outing (we were out for trout and redfish). Great overall experience. Highly recommend. …
Great trip, I would highly recommend it! Captain Tom is very patient and an excellent teacher. I caught lots of fish and had a great time doing it! Looking forward to another trip with him soon…
What a great trip! With the threat of a downpour Capt. Tom decided to push forward and I am so glad we did! The weather was overcast and at times a little drizzly. However, the bay was perfect and smooth. When we arrived at the area we were going to fish the Capt. found the perfect positions along the flats. The kids had never caught any decent fish before and they had the time of their lives even though they are typical kids and not patient at all. It took one fish on the line and they were hooked! Tom had several places already in mind where we would fish and it did not disappoint. Just a little observation from me. The Capt. knows his fishing and gear. Don’t let the one year experience sway you. He has fished all of his life and only guided for a year. He knows what he is doing. He is calm and has a blast helping you get those fish. I myself grew up on the coast and have fished all my life too but let the man take the lead. His boat, his gear and his knowledge. You pay for an experience so let him do what he knows and give you that experience. We had a great time and will book every time we go down. We also gave a tip. We had a great time for an amazing price so we wanted to show our appreciation! …
Tom’s boat and equipment is 1st class , he has knowledge of the bay and where to fine the fish. Tom is one of the best guide trips I’ve been on . I’m planning on coming back again and again. Thanks Tom for a great day.
