About Your Trip

Fish some of the most productive waters in the Pacific Northwest on a trip built around chasing hard-fighting, high-quality fish across Oregon’s legendary river systems. Operating out of the Portland area, this trip puts you on fisheries like the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, along with select coastal tributaries depending on the season and target species.

The focus is on Chinook (King) Salmon and Steelhead, with opportunities throughout the year to match peak runs. Spring Chinook
(March–June) are prized for their quality and are one of the most sought-after fisheries in the region. Summer Chinook (starting mid-June) bring size and strong fights, while Fall Chinook (August–October) offer some of the best chances at landing a true trophy king. In the winter months, the focus shifts to Steelhead, known for their aggressive strikes and explosive fights from January through March.

Depending on timing and conditions, you may also encounter Coho Salmon, Sturgeon, Shad, and more, adding variety to the day.

Fishing is typically done using a mix of trolling, drifting, and spinning with heavy tackle, dialing in presentations based on water conditions, current, and fish movement. The goal is to stay efficient and keep you in the best position for bites throughout the trip.

You’ll be fishing from a 22’ River Wild center console, equipped with Garmin electronics with LiveScope, a Minn Kota trolling motor, downriggers, and comfortable seating, giving you a smooth and capable platform for these waters.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures are provided, and your catch will be cleaned and filleted at the end of the trip. Just be sure to bring your Oregon fishing license, along with sun protection, weather-appropriate clothing, and any snacks or drinks you’d like for the day.

This is a well-rounded, seasonal fishery where timing, location, and experience come together to give you a strong shot at some of the Northwest’s most iconic fish.
