Guided by Harold Staples
Deep Sea Nearshore
Captain Harold is proud owner and operator of a family owned and operated Destin fishing charter business since day one.
Captain Harold’s father, Harold Senior, built his first boat (really just a box) when he was just a few years old, and he sailed it in the New Basin Canal in New Orleans around 1930.
Captain Harold Senior was encouraged and went on to build as many as 30 boats in his lifetime, each one getting larger and larger, with ten of those boats measuring 30 feet plus.
After many of Captain Harold Senior's fantastic boat creations, Captain Harold Senior and Captain Harold Jr built the Al-Lin which is named after Captain Harold’s two children, “AL” for Allen and “LIN” for Lindley.
Captain Harold moved from Biloxi to Destin and started fishing in 1973 and hasn't stopped! Allen and Lindley would ride along as young children and started helping with some of the charters. Allen became a captain at the age of 18.
Captain Harold’s daughter’s children, Gavin and Madison are now enjoying fishing at the ages of 7 and 10. Now they go with their “PawPaw” and help out with some of the charter trips. Jace, Captain Harold’s nephew, has been on several trips and now has ‘fishing in his blood’.
Captain Captain Harold says, “We have been very Blessed to make a living from what we love to do!”

Trip was fantastic!! The Captain asked what our goals were and he totally came through - we caught A LOT OF FISH!!! 1st Mate was a great guy, made it a great experience. Looking forward to next year!
These guys were awesome....Dominick was a heck of a first made and cade was awesome to. They both kept us bait3d and got the fish off fast for us. Will definitely be back
Captain Staples and crew were great. His experience led us to where the fish were biting and we caught many. Dominic and Caden did a great job helping us on our first ever fishing trip
Captain Harold and the boys were great! The day we had scheduled to go out, the weather was not good and Cap't was great about rescheduling for another day. He got us right on the fish! The first mates were fantastic. We had some small kids with us and they handled them wonderfully. We caught our fill of mackerel and snapper and even lost a bunch (our fault) and had a blast. Highly recommend this boat and crew! …
We will definitely book another fishing trip with Harold and crew. He went the extra mile to get us to the good fishing spots. It was our first deep sea fishing experience and they made it easy and we caught our limit!!
Harold and his crew were fantastic! Highly recommend. We went with 6 of us, 3 which were kids and they were so patient and helpful for us. Made sure to explain everything, help throughout and made it a great experience all around. We will definitely book with them again next time! …
5 stars for Harold and his deck hand Dominique apologizes I probably spelled your name wrong. Caught a lot of fish very friendly. Thank you for taking care of me (I got sick) and more importantly my children they had a blast and that’s what life is all about those memories!!! Will definitely contact again if I’m the area …
Capt. Harold and his crew were outstanding. The Al-Lin was the perfect choice for our group of six.
We had the best time. Captain Harold and his crew were great and made the trip one to remember. Thanks again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Capt Harold and his first mate Dominic were fantastic! We will definitely fish with them if we are in the area again. 10/10 day!
Capt Harold and the mates Dominique and Cayden were just awesome!! They were very accommodating and always helpful! Capt Harold enaured we caught our limit. It was a great day!!
Captain and his first meet Dominic were awesome today on the water. They definitely make sure they get you on some good strikes and know what you’re doing and keep it simple. Good job Dominic with your dreams I’m running your own boat one day I know you will make it happen …
Went out on the 8 trip with captain Harold and deck hand Dominic. Even though I spent most of my time in the cabin with bad headache.captain and Dominic took great care of my crew and some first timers. Now they Hooked!!!! Mostly Spanish with 1 nice king 54 fish total. Thanks guys for taking such good care of us …
Absolutely the best fishing experience of my life. I can’t say enough about how good of a captain Harold is. We were on fish the whole time with hardly any downtime. The crew were absolutely amazing as well. I had myself and three people who never fish and they worked with them to the point where they were catching more fish than me !! I really can’t wait to see them all again next year …
Caught fish had a good time. Lot of what was caught had to go back because of out of season, but still a good catch in my book. If you ask them for a recommendation for somewhere to eat and he tells you, you better listen.
We enjoyed a great family fishing trip on the AL-LIN. Captain Staples, deckhand Dominic and the Captain’s grandson Jeb were a great crew. They worked together to make sure we had a successful trip. No doubt that fishing pressure was high, I could tell this by the number of boats fishing for bait. After catching our bait Captain Staples headed for our first drop. Trolling as we went, in just a few minutes it was fish on and my wife landed her first fish a bonito. A couple more bonito and we get to the bottom fishing. We targeted Red Snapper and limited out and as you can see from the pictures add a lot more rod bending tasty treats. It was a hot day and again I thank Dominic for all his help and hard work. The next time I look for a charter Capt Staples will be the one I call. …
Nature didn't give us a calm day ,so we couldn't bottom fish, the Capt. Did take care us and we max out on Spanish mackerel. Had a blast, will do it again
Harold was very kind and helpful! Everything we hoped for in a fishing trip, met and exceeded our expectations! Our deck hands, though young, acted as if they had done this for decades! Very professional, kind, and knowledgeable beyond their years. If you're a beginner or expert fisherman, this is the boat for you! Plenty of fish, and choices on what restaurants will cook your catch, recommended by the crew. I only wish we had a second day with this crew! Harold knew the seas and location of species we wanted! Highly recommend this boat and Crew, first choice when we come back!! …
Best time I ever had do tons of bass fishing in indiana. But this took fishing to another level I’m hooked no pun intended. But we go to Destin every year in may and will go out with Captain Harold every time.
Early morning nearshore private trip, with a total of 4 in our group during the month of September, 2022. Great experience for everyone in our group. Amazing, knowledge and experienced captain and first mate, well worth the trip. Top notch fishing experience with a resulting "better than anticipated" haul of various types of catches. Would 100 percent recommend! We have every intention of booking this Vessel /Captain sometime again in the future when we return to the Destin area for holiday. …
The trip was great. The captain shared before we left the dock that the fishing had declined over the past couple of weeks but he would do his best to find them. We ended up with a good day catching 42 keepers. We would reserve with him again.
He was the best. He out is in the mackerels in a matter of minutes and keep us on them. He was super nice. His deck hand was by far better than I could possibly describe. One of the other boats said he was the king of mackerels and I believe it is true. Loved the experience and opportunity to go fishing with mr Harold …
It was great even though we had a little bad weather. The Captain was awesome and put use on fish right when we left. The deck hand was great and helped everyone out and kept us going. I would so use them again and again.
Harold and Sean were incredible great trip. I’ve been on over 24 offshore trips and Captain Harold by far is the most experienced I have ever gone out with.
Capt. Harold did a great job even during the storm. We caught several different kinds of fish. Everyone was very pleased with all the fish that were kept and the ones released. 1st mate Steven worked his but off to keep hooks baited and with the fish coming onboard. Great first trip with my son. Tight Lines …
Morning trip Captain Harry. Caught some quick bait… Then some Spanish and King Mackerel. Went bottom fishing, and caught some red and black snapper!
The trip started with bait fishing until we caught about 25. We then trolled (4 fishing lines in the water dragging baited hooks while we moved) for a while and caught a 3lb spanish mackeral on the way out away from shore. We then caught several Trigger fish that we had to throw back. We caught one red fish and encountered situations where smaller fish were repreatedly steeling our squid bait while the fishing lines were dropping to the bottom. When we were nearing the 4 hour limit we started back to shore and caught another 3lb mackeral while trolling back to shore. We used open face reels the whole time with different lb test lines depending on what type fishing we were doing. The weather was great and the waves were 2 to 4 feet. A little rocky while fishing, but still fun. The crew cleaned and filleted the fish for us. We cooked the fish at our rented condo the next day and it was way more than we could eat. Captain Harold did a good job and all were very accomodating. …
