About Your Guide

Ben DuBois

Independent Guide
Captain Ben is an Arkansas native who turned a lifelong love of the outdoors into a career guiding anglers on the legendary trout waters around Cotter.

Born and raised in Fayetteville, Ben spent much of his childhood outside and knew from an early age that he wanted to build a life around the outdoors. After graduating from the University of Arkansas, he gained guiding experience across the country in fly fishing and several different types of hunting, learning not only about fish and wildlife but what goes into providing guests with a memorable experience.

In 2024, Ben followed his biggest passion and began guiding fly anglers on the White and Norfork Rivers. Today, he spends his days exploring these renowned Ozark tailwaters and sharing everything he's learned with his guests.

Teaching is one of Ben's favorite parts of guiding. If you've never touched a fly rod, he'll help you get comfortable with the fundamentals of casting, presentation, reading water, and fighting trout. Experienced anglers can dig deeper into techniques like nymphing, dry fly fishing, hopper fishing, and throwing streamers in...

Experienced anglers can dig deeper into techniques like nymphing, dry fly fishing, hopper fishing, and throwing streamers in
search of larger fish.

Ben especially enjoys introducing younger anglers to fly fishing. He had the opportunity to fish Dry Run Creek as a kid himself, and getting to return there as a guide and help another generation experience its incredible trout fishery has brought that experience full circle.

More than anything, Ben enjoys spending his days on the river, teaching anglers, making new friends, and sharing the Arkansas waters that inspired him to make fly fishing his career.

About Your Trip

Experience the thrill of fly fishing on the renowned White River, a 90-mile stretch fed by the Bull Shoals Dam, famous for its trophy brown trout. Our primary tactic is nymphing, but during the vibrant spring and summer hatches, dry flies and hoppers become prime targets. Wintertime offers the excitement of streamer fishing, which can lead to lifetime catches. The Norfork River, a shorter 4-mile stretch below the Norfork Dam, offers an impressive catch and release section that consistently produces great trout. Similar tactics to the White River are employed here, with opportunities to stack up fish due to the river's shorter length. For young anglers under 16, Dry Run Creek provides the ultimate fishing experience. Located directly below the Norfork National Fish Hatchery, this smaller creek is home to monster trout, offering a memorable fishing adventure for the next generation. Our guided trips are designed to cater to both beginners and experienced anglers, with a focus on teaching and making new friends on the river. Join us for an unforgettable fly fishing adventure in the beautiful waters of Arkansas.
