About Your Trip
Experience world-class smallmouth bass fishing on the legendary waters of Door County with Sam and Mike. Sturgeon Bay has earned its reputation as one of the finest smallmouth fisheries in North America, where clear water, rocky shorelines, offshore structure, islands, and dramatic bluff walls create ideal habitat for healthy populations of hard-fighting bronzebacks. Whether you're chasing your first smallmouth or searching for a true trophy fish, every trip is customized to give you the best
opportunity for success.
Your adventure begins before launch, as Sam and Mike carefully evaluate weather, wind, and current fishing conditions to determine the best launch location for the day. Rather than fishing the same areas every trip, they'll choose the launch and game plan that offer the greatest opportunity to stay on active fish. After meeting around 7:00 a.m., you'll find rods rigged and ready, allowing you to begin fishing almost immediately after reaching the first spot.
Every trip is tailored to your goals and experience level. If you're new to bass fishing, your captain will provide instruction on casting, lure selection, fish behavior, electronics, and boat positioning to help you build confidence throughout the day. Experienced anglers can dive deeper into advanced seasonal patterns, finesse presentations, power fishing techniques, or learn how tournament anglers break down unfamiliar water. As conditions change throughout the day, your captain will continually adjust locations, presentations, and bait choices to stay around active fish and maximize your opportunities.
All rods, reels, baits, terminal tackle, life jackets, bottled water, soda, and a cooler for your food and snacks are provided. If you have a favorite rod, reel, or confidence bait you'd like to fish with, you're welcome to bring it along. Just be sure to bring a printed Wisconsin fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, non-marking shoes, lunch or snacks, and a positive attitude. The crew will gladly take photos throughout the day so you can remember every great catch.
Half-day trips are perfect for anglers looking to experience Door County's incredible bass fishing without committing to a full day, while full-day trips provide extra time to explore multiple areas and adapt to changing conditions. During portions of the summer, extended trips may also be available for anglers wanting even more time on the water. Whether your goal is learning a new technique, introducing someone to bass fishing, or landing the biggest smallmouth of your life, Sam and Mike work hard to deliver an experience worthy of crossing another item off your fishing bucket list.
