I have a mixed review regarding Captain Brett. The night before our trip was to begin, he called to inform us that we needed a Florida fishing license. The description of the trip specifically said that no Florida license was required because the captain would have one for the entire boat. We had to scramble to obtain one from the Florida recreation website. This also cost more than what they said was covered in the trip. We found out later that the captain simply did not want to wait in line to get his commercial fishing license for his boat, which he said was an all-day affair. He was making the customers obtain their own licenses. It wouldn't have been too big a deal if he or the Captain Experiences website would have informed us up front to give us time to make the arrangements. On the positive side, the fishing conditions were challenging on the day of our trip with high winds, but Captain Brett stayed out with us long past our allotted four hours to insure we caught some fish. Both me and my brother-in-law eventually caught the two biggest Jack Crevalle we had ever landed. I did hook a tarpon. and fought him for about 15 minutes, before he got off the line. Overall, it was a fun trip, but the licensing stress was unnecessary. …
Had a great time and we caught alot of fish would definitely book again.
Capt. Mark Shepherd did an outstanding job putting us on fish within minutes. I will book this trip again with Capt. Shepard!
Brett was accommodating for me and my two kids. Very knowledgeable and professional. Will go back again. We caught tons of fish!
Captain Britt was great! By far the most knowledgeable fishing guide we have ever had. Ask to target peacock bass and on my third cast had one in the boat. In total we put 50+ fish in the boat in 6hrs. Had a great time, Thanks captain Britt!
Very informative and friendly and knowledgeable. A cool dude!!!
Myself and my three teenage boys had a great trip with Captain Brett. He is very personable, patient with the boys and really knows his craft. Great time and we caught about 50 fish. We truly had a great time and so will you!
A very relaxed trip, with good fishing spots, easy-going captain, and clean/working fishing equipment. Capt Brett took great care of my 2 kids (16 & 11) pointing out the how to set bait, cast in the right direction, and enjoy fishing safely. Capt Brett handled all the setting of bait, untangling line, tying new hooks and helping us understand the need for conservation of the Everglades’ ecosystem. Despite the massive rain shower, we caught fish under a bridge (Florida style), in addition to a quiet fishing spot away from the highway. We caught and released Peacock bass, Mayans, Oscars, Large Mouth Bass, Bowfins, and Gars. Capt Brett’s boat is in very good condition, with a new motor and very clean surfaces. Just remember, you’re exposed to the sun (no canopy), which was fine at 730am in April. The drive to the put-in location is at mile marker 41 in alligator alley so plan accordingly and start early. You will need to buy your license, and bait; Capt. Brett will meet you at his friend’s bait shop on the way. In my view, this trip is a 2-for-1 because not only do you fish, you see the Everglades in private for 4 hours. All in all, a great experience with Capt. Brett! …
