The small town of Beaufort, North Carolina and the surrounding Crystal Coast, offers some world class fishing opportunities. Whether you want an active adventure, or simply the chance to bag some fresh fish, Captain Jack has been fishing the local waters for over 20 years. His vast knowledge of the area will make sure you have a good time while he’s showing you around.

You’ll be going after your fish aboard a 20 foot Intruder skiff that can easily accommodate 3 anglers.

This is an inshore fishing charter so you will be fishing the local creeks, flats, and rivers. You may encounter Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Striped Bass, and Sheepshead, just to name a few.

You don’t have to worry about the fishing gear or North Carolina Saltwater fishing license as they are provided with the trip.

How did you get started guiding?

Lifetime fisherman and loved taking people that had never been and showing them the joy it brings. I recognized an aging fleet of captains in my area and saw a future need. Community college offered a course to get your Capt license so I signed up and the rest is history.

What makes you different from other guides?

Between my own and all of my nieces and nephews I have a ton of experience fishing with young kids so I understand the patience and attention they require to show them an extra special time on the water. That ability takes some pressure off the parents so they can enjoy the day as well.

Mid September 2026

Fall fishing is underway. The Spanish mackerel are right on the beach and in the inlets tearing up bait. False albacore are just off the beach a few miles in big numbers. We picked up a skipjack tuna mixed in with the albies the other day which was a nice surprise. Inside the redfish and flounder bite is going strong and up the Neuse the old drum are doing their thing.

Mid August 2026

The redfish bite has been great the last few weeks and for the people wanting some variety we are seeing some really nice black drum. Spanish mackerel and bluefish are also an option if catching a bunch of fish is all you care about.
