Born and raised in the Florida Keys, Captain John is a 5th generation native to the Florida Keys. Based on the westernmost point of the Keys, Captain John's natural conclusion was to turn to fishing!
His biggest catches were a 14' Hammerhead Shark of 700 pounds, and Goliath Groupers weighing just under 500 pounds! Captain John became a professional captain in 2008 and has been running charters ever since. Captain John claims that the best part of the job is spending time with people, and sharing the passion of fishing with one another.

Had a fantastic trip with Captain John in July of 2023. Went for a morning trip on our honeymoon, caught tons of fish, had a lot of fun. John and his first mate were very competent, personable, and provided an excellent experience. The boat was well outfitted, John knew several spots with lots of fish, and gave us more time than we'd paid for. Great experience, will absolutely book again next time we're in the keys. …

Great experience! We had a blast fishing with the family. Steve was fun, polite & took the time to teach us! I also forgot my AirPods on the boat & he was nice enough to bring them to our hotel the next morning 🫶🏻 Thank you Steve!

Captain John was awesome! He was super upfront about water conditions and left all the decisions to us. Had a quick backup plan for us since there were 7-9 foot seas offshore. Caught some fish waiting out the weather and then put us on the fish we were after! 10/10 would recommend …

We booked with John, but when we arrived John wasn’t there, and he’d arranged for a guy named Steve to take us out. This was a bit of a surprise and not who I’d chosen based on reviews. We’ve been fishing in Key West for several years and this was by far the worst experience we’d ever had. We ended the day with two yellowtails. It was a bit uncomfortable at times because he’d yell and get mad that the fish weren’t biting. Maybe it was an off day but would not recommend and would not go with him again or book with John again bc he may or may not show. …
