Spend a day on the water with Captain Hugh exploring the reefs and wrecks off Key West on this nearshore fishing adventure. As a 4th generation Conch with over 30 years of experience, Captain Hugh brings a lifetime of local knowledge to every trip. He’s been running charters since 2004, and his experience means you’ll be fishing the most productive spots with the best techniques to land a great catch.
With this day on the water, you’ll have plenty of time to target a wide range of species. The reefs and wrecks are prime territory for Permit and African Pompano—two prized fighters that challenge anglers of all levels. You’ll also drop lines for Mangrove Snapper, Triggerfish, Cobia, and Black Grouper, all known for their strong fights and delicious fillets. Captain Hugh will have you fishing with bottom rigs, cut bait setups, and both light and heavy tackle to match the conditions and your target species.
You’ll also have the option to chase Tarpon on 6 and 8 hour trips, one of the most iconic game fish in the Keys. With their explosive runs and aerial leaps, these silver kings are a thrilling challenge and a true bucket-list catch.
You’ll fish aboard a 2022 34’ Freeman catamaran powered by twin 300 HP Mercury engines. Known for its smooth, stable ride and spacious layout, this boat is built for comfort and performance. With plenty of room for up to six anglers, it’s equipped with a restroom and Bluetooth speakers, so you can enjoy your favorite music while you fish.
Captain Hugh provides all rods, reels, tackle, and live bait, and he’ll clean your catch back at the dock. Bring your favorite snacks and drinks—beer is welcome, but please no glass containers.
The trip price does not include fuel, which will be charged based on usage at the end of the day.
