For the past 50+ years Ray has been living in Texas working in the Real Estate business but still spending as much time as possible fishing our local waters which includs Lake Conroe. Rays dream to become a fishing guide was finally realized in 2023. Ray really enjoys fishing Lake Conroe and has a passion to introduce others to the sport of fishing.

Whether you're an experienced angler or casting a line for the first time, this trip offers the perfect opportunity to hook into some of the lake’s most sought-after species. Depending on the time of year, you might reel in Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Striped Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Flathead, Yellow Perch, or Common Bream. With such a variety of fish in these waters, you never know what’s going to be on the other end of your line. Any legal-sized fish is yours to keep, and catch cleaning is available for an additional fee if you’d like to take home a fresh dinner.

Captain Ray uses a range of techniques to put you on the fish, including spinning, trolling, jigging, popping, and bottom fishing with both light and heavy tackle. No matter your experience level, he’ll make sure you’re set up with the best approach for the conditions that day. Rods, reels, and lures are all provided.

You'll be fishing from a comfortable 20’ pontoon boat,with plenty of space for up to four passengers. This trip is great for families, friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing yet action-packed day on the water. Captain Ray welcomes anglers of all ages, making this a perfect way to get the kids off their screens and onto an adventure. If you need child-sized life vests, be sure to ask in advance or bring your own.

Before coming aboard, make sure to purchase a Texas fishing license for everyone in your group. Bring along sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, snacks, and drinks to stay comfortable throughout the trip. Alcohol is not allowed on board.

Ray was very friendly and experienced. His tackle and boat was clean and tip top. Fish wasn’t biting at first but Ray stayed at it and put us on good fish and ended up with many in the live well. Ray is very knowledgeable and a great guide. Would use again!

Late June 2026

Another good outing on Lake Conroe yesterday (6/19/2026). My half-day trip was with two customers from Louisiana who wanted to catch crappie, or as they call them back home, sac-a-lait.

We had a great day on the water, and the crappie were cooperating. My customers came close to a one-man limit, but with the weather moving in, we decided to head back a little earlier than planned. Better safe than sorry. We found fish in 15 to 25 feet of water, with water temperatures holding in the mid-80s. Minnows were the bait of choice. They had the Crappie Rods working!

Early June 2026

Had a great time today with some old friends! We couldn’t pin down the exact year, but it’s been at least 25 years since the three of us were together at the same time. We shared a lot of laughs reminiscing about old memories and stories from years ago. They had to work hard for the bite today, but still managed to take home a good mess of fish. 😁 Ronnie was using minnows, but eventually switched to a jig after realizing he was being outfished by John, who was using jigs from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs. We fished 13–25 FOW, and the water temp held around 80 degrees. Green/black and pink/black were the colors today.

Mid May 2026

Enjoyed fishing with my son-in-law (Dana Walker) today! It was his first time using LiveScope, and while there was a little bit of a learning curve, he caught on quickly. He said he wanted a limit of crappie, and that’s exactly what he got — and then some! We fished in 14 to 25 feet of water, and the bait of choice today was minnows along with a chartreuse/black jig from TMT Fishing and Hand Tied Jigs. Water temperature was 79–81 degrees. Great day on the water!
