Depending on the time of year, you might reel in Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Striped Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Flathead, Yellow Perch, or Common Bream. With such a variety of fish in these waters, you never know what’s going to be on the other end of your line. Any legal-sized fish is yours to keep, and catch cleaning is available for an additional fee if you’d like to take home a fresh dinner.

Captain Ray uses a range of techniques to put you on the fish, including spinning, trolling, jigging, popping, and bottom fishing with both light and heavy tackle. No matter your experience level, he’ll make sure you’re set up with the best approach for the conditions that day. Rods, reels, and lures are all provided.

You'll be fishing from a comfortable 20’ pontoon boat,with plenty of space for up to four passengers. This trip is great for families, friends, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing yet action-packed day on the water. Captain Ray welcomes anglers of all ages, making this a perfect way to get the kids off their screens and onto an adventure. If you need child-sized life vests, be sure to ask in advance or bring your own.

Before coming aboard, make sure to purchase a Texas fishing license for everyone in your group. Bring along sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, snacks, and drinks to stay comfortable throughout the trip. Alcohol is not allowed on board.

My husband and 14-year-old son went out lake fishing with Ray and they had such a fantastic experience! My son especially had been really looking forward to the trip and Ray definitely didn’t disappoint.

He worked so hard to make sure they had the best experience and most importantly, got them catching fish! They caught some great catfish and were both really pleased with what they managed to catch. Ray was incredibly kind, patient and helpful throughout, and really made the trip enjoyable for them both.

They also loved getting to use all the amazing fishing equipment Ray had available, which made the experience even more special. They came back absolutely buzzing and haven’t stopped talking about it!

Ray was very friendly and experienced. His tackle and boat was clean and tip top. Fish wasn’t biting at first but Ray stayed at it and put us on good fish and ended up with many in the live well. Ray is very knowledgeable and a great guide. Would use again!

Mid September 2026

Today’s customers were a father and son. Dad brought a small cooler and said 15 catfish was all they needed to take home. Well, they got their 15 plus a couple more! 😁🎣 After putting over 50 cats back in the lake, they were getting a little bored with the catfish 😂, so for their last hour they were ready to give crappie fishing a try for their first time. With a little help, the son reeled in his very first crappie! 🎣😁 With the lake starting to get choppy, the son was beginning to feel a little uneasy, so we decided to call the trip a little early.
It was a good day on Lake Conroe! 🎣

Mid August 2026

Had a father-and-son team out with me today for a half-day fishing trip! 🎣 They traveled all the way from England to experience some Texas fishing on Lake Conroe. Everything was new to them, and it was the first time either one of them had ever caught a catfish. We didn’t catch any monsters today, but to them, those catfish were plenty big! 😁 It was all catch-and-release, and they caught and released a bunch of those little rascals! 😂 Being a guide has its perks—you get to meet people from all over the world. 🇬🇧🎣🇺🇸 Thanks again, guys, for spending the day with me.

Mid July 2026

Today’s half-day customers were two cousins. I really enjoyed meeting them and spending time on the water with them. Both were retired from the Air Force, and they sure enjoyed cutting up and laughing! There were several firsts for them today: their first time on Lake Conroe and their first time fishing with LiveScope. We had a few missed opportunities and a couple that came off at the boat, but once they started getting the hang of how to trick those finicky crappie into biting, they put together a nice mess of fish. Minnows were the bait of choice today. Water temperatures were in the mid-80s, and the lake wasn’t overly crowded. All in all, it was a great day on Lake Conroe!
