I am leaving a 100% honest review in hopes that it will help Cody improve.

The good: he was on time, ready, knowledgeable, constantly kept our hooks baited, was a safe driver, and put us on the fish...which is what you pay for. And he gave great advice on how to cook the fish we caught!

The not-so-good: the boat was filthy, seating was very limited and cramped, and the restroom on board was not available as advertised. We all thought he was pretty condescending and impatient. He was borderline rude to my best friend. He called her a "little old lady," which really hurt her feelings and made us all upset (she's only 57). Also, she wanted to learn how to cast because that was part of the fun for her, but he did not seem to want to take the time to teach her, and kept trying to cast for her. He talked a lot but was not overly nice or positive.

We were used to a different style of fishing, so there was a learning curve and it was hard to break the muscle memory. His tone of voice was like, "you dumbass" every time we'd lose a hit, instead of patiently and clearly explaining how to change up what we were doing wrong. He was not very encouraging.

Overall, I was disappointed in the experience, but happy that we left with some delicious fish to eat for several days.

Cody was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. That said, we had one adult and three teenagers who were not experienced fishing saltwater. He was not patient and did not spend a lot of time teaching technique or giving grace. He did get us on fish but there is more to an experience than that. You should not have your guest leave feeling like they have been belittled or berated. I do not think this was his intent at all, but he did come off rough on them. It would have most likely been a good time if everyone was experienced. But if you are experienced, you are less likely to need a guide. We were supposed to have 5 people fishing, but the boat was too small. It was cramped with 4 people, so I ended up not fishing. You live and learn.
