Captain Mark started out fishing bass tournaments in South Central Florida in his late teens. He fished primarily freshwater until the the last 18 years, when he made the switch to saltwater. Mark not only fishes the IFA, BBRC and Florida Pro Redfish tournament circuits, he was director for 2 of the 8 Xtreme Redfish divisions in the state of Florida. He gives his time and advice to numerous charity tournaments, such as “Reelin 4 Kids”, the “Gator Quarterback Touchdown Club”, and the Santa Fe High School “Raiders Slam” every year in the Big Bend area. When Mark is not fishing tournaments, you can still find him on the water taking his friends and family out. Mark enjoys the challenge and prefers to catch his redfish on artificial lures. He is an advocate of wildlife conservation and prefers catch and release whenever possible. Mark and his partner Ron were 2014 Ifa West Coast Division Champions and hope to repeat it again!

Captain Bobbi was raised up on the water running shrimp boats with her family since childhood. Born and raised in Crystal River, FL, she moved to Steinhatchee when she was 22 and started fishing. What started off as just some local tournaments soon turned into a career. After winning a few trophies and getting the fishing fever, she decided to get her Captain's license and join the industry. With the help of her husband, Mark, she is now a license Captain and professional charter operater. She enjoys being able to take people on to the water and show them what the Big Bend of Florida has to offer for fisherman and their families. A trip with Captain Bobbi is sure to be a blast for everyone, whether you're an experienced angler or still learning the ropes.
Scallop season is off to a strong start in Steinhatchee! Many people are reporting good numbers, with many boats finding limits. Water clarity has improved on calm days, making for excellent visibility in the shallows. The best results are coming from 3 to 6 feet of water. As always, harvest responsibly, leave the small scallops to grow, and fly a dive flag while in the water. It’s shaping up to be another great season

Late May 2026
In Steinhatchee, June brings some of the best mixed-action days of the season. Early mornings are producing trout and redfish along the grass flats, while cobia continue cruising the nearshore waters on calm days, giving anglers a shot at exciting sight-fishing opportunities. Scalloping season excitement is building, with clear water and warming temperatures setting up excellent conditions for shallow grass flats. Boaters should target sunny afternoons with light winds for the best visibility. Sunscreen and long sleeve shirts are a must to avoid upcoming sun burns.

Early April 2026
Spring patterns are heating up on the flats. Redfish are pushing shallow on incoming tides, feeding around grass and oyster bars. Speckled trout action is strong, especially early morning on topwater over grass flats in 2 to 4 feet. Flounder are starting to show near structure and sandy potholes. Water temps are rising, improving overall bite. Expect consistent action and great sight fishing opportunities over the coming weeks.
