Join Captain Sean for a personalized offshore fishing experience along South Africa’s KZN North Coast, launching primarily from Tinley Manor Beach near Ballito. With over 25 years of fishing experience, including competitive angling at both national and interprovincial levels, Captain Sean brings a deep understanding of these waters and a passion for sharing the fishery with his guests.
Trips typically launch through the surf, a classic part of fishing along this stretch of coastline. Once
offshore, you’ll fish productive reefs and deeper water areas known for both bottom fishing and game fishing opportunities. Depending on the conditions and time of year, the plan may focus on working reef structure for bottom species or heading farther out in search of offshore gamefish.
Captain Sean specializes in providing a hands-on, one-on-one guiding experience, keeping trips limited to a maximum of three guests. This small group size allows him to give each angler personal attention throughout the trip, helping with techniques, positioning, and making the most of the day on the water.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 19’ Tomcat catamaran, a stable and capable vessel well suited for launching through the surf and fishing the offshore waters along the KZN coast. The boat is fully equipped for both bottom fishing and game fishing trips.
All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are supplied for the trip, so you’ll have everything needed to get started. If you have a favorite rod or personal setup, you’re welcome to bring it along. Captain Sean focuses on making the experience accessible to anglers of all skill levels, and guests of all genders are welcome aboard.
Guests should bring snacks, drinks, sun protection such as a hat, and a valid fishing license for the day. With a small group setting, experienced guidance, and productive coastal waters, Captain Sean offers a relaxed and focused fishing trip along one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most scenic stretches of coastline
