Captain Byron specializes in targeting Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho Salmon, & Lake Trout —and with years of experience on these waters, he knows how to adapt to the bite and conditions. You'll be using a variety of trolling techniques
like downriggers, planer boards, and dipsy divers to cover water and dial in on what’s working that day. Whether you're a seasoned angler or it’s your first time on the big lake, this trip is tailored to meet you where you are.
You’ll be fishing from a comfortable and well-equipped 36’ Trojan Sport Sedan, powered by twin Chevy 454s. With a hull weighing in around 17,000 lbs, it handles Lake Michigan’s chop with ease, giving you a smooth ride no matter the forecast. The boat features a roomy cabin with two cushioned bench couches, a full-size private restroom ("head"), and a cozy V-berth for those who want to kick back and relax between lines.
The spacious back deck provides plenty of room to move around, take photos, or enjoy the moment while waiting for the next rod to pop. Safety is a top priority, and the deck’s waist-high railing gives you peace of mind while you're reeling in or just hanging out.
Captain Byron provides everything you’ll need—rods, reels, tackle, and advanced electronics to help locate active fish. He’ll also clean and fillet any legal catch you decide to keep, free of charge, so you're set to enjoy it when you return to shore.
One unique highlight of this trip? There’s a gas grill onboard! Bring your favorite ingredients—anything from breakfast staples to burgers, veggies, or fresh fish—and fire up a hot meal right on the water. The boat is already stocked with cooking tools, so all you need to bring is the food.
