About Your Trip
Climb aboard for an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Jacob, a seasoned angler with more than 15 years of charter fishing experience and a lifetime of landing big fish. With his deep knowledge of the waters surrounding Door County and a passion for helping anglers hook into trophy catches, Captain Jacob is your go-to guide for a serious salmon and trout trolling adventure. Whether it’s your first time out or your hundredth trip
chasing giants, you can count on Captain Jacob to give you the trip of a lifetime.
You'll be fishing from a 25’ Tiara Pursuit powered by a 225 HP Evinrude Ocean Pro outboard. This classic rig is built for stability and comfort, giving up to five anglers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the action. Outfitted for Great Lakes trolling with all the necessary gear—from downriggers to planer boards—this setup is made to chase salmon and trout in both shallow and deep water. Captain Jacob will handle the setup, fine-tune the trolling spreads, and coach you through every hook-up, making sure you’re in the best position to land your catch.
Depending on the season, you might be targeting Chinook Salmon screaming drag off the reel, Lake Trout lurking deep below, or even Coho Salmon and Steelhead cruising the upper water columns. Early in the year, nearshore runs can be productive for Coho and rainbows, while the peak of summer often calls for deep-water trolling for monster kings and lakers. No matter the season, Captain Jacob will recommend what’s biting best—but the final call is always yours.
One of the biggest advantages of fishing with Captain Jacob is mobility. He’s able to launch from multiple locations throughout Door County, which means he can take you where the bite is hottest. It’s all about maximizing your chances and delivering a successful, exciting trip every time.
To prepare for your trip, don’t forget to bring a cooler for your catch, your favorite food and beverages, and a valid Wisconsin fishing license with the Great Lakes Salmon/Trout Stamp. If you're prone to motion sickness, it’s a good idea to take Dramamine at least an hour before departure. Soft-soled shoes, a sweatshirt, rain gear, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended, and a camera is always a great idea if you want to capture those big-fish moments.
Captain Jacob brings the expertise, the gear, and the drive to make every trip count. All that’s missing is you. Book your trip today and get ready for a Door County fishing experience you won’t forget. Tips for your captain are always appreciated.
