Captain Jonathon was born and raised on the Outer Banks and has spent most of his life fishing the waters surrounding Nags Head and the North Carolina coast. From a young age, he spent countless days and nights learning the local tides, seasonal fish movement, and changing coastal conditions that shape the fishery throughout the year.

After high school, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps before transitioning into commercial fishing aboard pelagic longline vessels. That combination of local knowledge, commercial fishing experience, and lifelong time on the water gives him a strong understanding of both inshore and offshore fisheries along the Outer Banks.

Today, Captain Jonathon enjoys sharing those experiences with anglers of all skill levels while creating safe, family-friendly, and memorable days on the water.

This trip gives anglers the flexibility to fish both the sound and nearby Atlantic waters depending on weather and current fishing conditions. By combining inshore and nearshore opportunities, Captain Jonathon can adjust the plan throughout the day to target the most productive water available.

Depending on the season, possible catches may include Cobia, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Black Seabass, Triggerfish, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Bluefish.

Fishing styles may include trolling, bottom fishing, spinning, jigging, and drift fishing depending on the species being targeted and the conditions that day.

The trip takes place aboard a 20’ May-Craft center console equipped with GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, wireless trolling motor, and room for up to 4 anglers.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, and fishing licenses are included. Live bait is provided and may be caught fresh during the trip depending on conditions.

This trip is a great option for anglers wanting the flexibility to explore both protected sound water and nearby ocean structure while targeting a wide variety of Outer Banks species.
