About Your Trip
Spend a full day on the water exploring the rugged, productive coastline of Haida Gwaii. These guided fishing charters are built for anglers looking to combine hands-on fishing with the kind of remote, scenic experience this region is known for.
Trips run approximately 10 hours dock-to-dock and are designed for small groups of up to four anglers. With plenty of time on the water, you’ll be able to cover ground, adjust to conditions, and target
a variety of species depending on the time of year.
Your guide will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and safety equipment, so you can focus on fishing from the start. If you have a specific species in mind, you’re welcome to plan around it—just be sure to review current regulations, seasons, and limits ahead of time.
The Experience
This is a true coastal fishing trip. You’ll be running along exposed shoreline, working productive structure, and adapting throughout the day based on weather and where the fish are holding. With extended time on the water, there’s flexibility to shift locations and dial in the best bite available.
At the end of the day, local processing options are available if you’d like to have your catch professionally handled and packaged.
The Boat & Setup
You’ll be fishing from a capable vessel with an enclosed cabin for protection from the elements. There’s no permanent bathroom on board, but a portable toilet is available for convenience.
Good to Know
Trips depart from Daajing Giids, so plan travel accordingly if you’re coming from another area. You’ll need to bring your own food, water, and weather-appropriate clothing, as conditions can change quickly along the coast.
These trips do not include travel into Gwaii Haanas National Park. If that’s something you’re interested in, you’ll need to coordinate separately through Parks Canada.
Charters are family-friendly and open to most ages, though children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 3 are not permitted.
Given the remote nature of these trips, you may be several hours from shore or medical services at times, so it’s important to plan accordingly.
If you’re looking for a full-day fishing experience in one of the most remote and scenic fisheries on the West Coast, this is a great way to do it.
