Tyler is a full time guide and tournament angler and spends 250+ days annually on the water. Trips are offered on Lake Travis and Walter E. Long Lake (aka Lake Decker). Lake Travis Fishing Guide is a premium fishing charter offering trips from a new fully loaded Phoenix 921 elite with a Mercury 300R, provides high end Shimano and Dobyn's rods combos and delivers an unparalleled level of professionalism and service.

About Capt. Tyler: I grew up in Southern California and caught the fishing addiction at a young age. I spent every summer hanging out at the docks where my grandpa kept his sailboat, bumming rides to the local lakes whenever I could, and fishing for anything and everything I could catch. I grew up doing a lot of saltwater fishing too, but bass fishing, in particular competitive tournament fishing is my passion. I moved to Texas in 2010 to attend Baylor University, where I eventually became their collegiate bass fishing team's president. After graduating college I moved to Austin for a job in real estate, but soon realized being outdoors makes me a lot happier than sitting behind a computer. What began as a part time gig turned into a full time career with the support of my wonderful wife. Unlike a lot of the other guides in this area I do this full time and spend over 250 days a year on the water.

Fishing is my passion and I love sharing that with my clients. Something you'll find unique about my approach to guiding is that it's very educational. Not only will I put you on fish I will also teach you things like how to locate fish, why we are fishing certain areas, why we are throwing particular baits, how weather and lake conditions affect the bass etc. etc. I even offer a special trip I call my Coaching Trips, these trips are all about education and less about running my honey holes. If you're looking to learn message me for more information about this type of trip.

I pride myself on offering a premium fishing trip and creating a memorable and fun experience for my clients. Simply put, my business model focuses on turning you into a repeat customer. The way I see if, if I make sure you have an awesome time you'll want to come back again... it's a win win! I am also very personable and easy to talk to and get along with. If you've fished with enough charters you know that every once and a while you get stuck with some salty ol' captain who isn't overly friendly, doesn't talk much, or barks orders at you. That's not me, I'll keep you chatting and laughing the whole trip, all while keeping you on the fish. I'm great with kids too, if you've got youngin's over 5 years old, bring them along and let's introduce them to the sport of fishing!

I have well over 100+ 5 star reviews on Google and would love to be the guide to get you out on the water!

What knowledge and PATIENCE. Tyler was very personable and so on point with assisting us with any of our needs- never miss a step and kept us fishing for 8 hours straight. My arm was sore the next day…lol. Thanks for a great day out for my husbands birthday and teaching us new places, new techniques and helping us catch BIG fish 🎣 ps. Sorry the pictures are sideways- can’t figure out the issue

We booked a four hour trip with Captain Tyler on 11/4/19. I can say Captain Tyler was very prompt and professional the entire trip. We have nothing but great things to say about him. He made our trip very enjoyable. We talked the entire trip about anything and everything, which made the trip extra special. Very knowledgeable of the fish that inhabit Lake Travis. He is also very knowledgeable of the surroundings of the lake as well. Captain Tyler put us onto the fish which made for a great fishing trip. We highly recommend Captain Tyler to anyone. We thank you Captain Tyler for a wonderful time.

Fishing

My friend and I wanted to change it up for our girl’s weekend and decided to try fishing! We both have gone fishing with our families in the past, but by no means are we experts, so hiring a fishing guide sounded perfect. Tyler was at the boat ramp early with the boat ready to go waiting for us at the dock. He even carried our cooler for us to the boat! (He already had bottled water in his cooler for us though!) Tyler recommended an evening trip on a lake called Lake Decker. Excellent recommendation! We both caught a bunch of fish and had a blast. I really didn’t expect to catch a ton since neither of us were very experienced with fishing. But our captain had super nice fishing gear and set us up with lures that were easy to use. He taught us how to cast, retrieve the bait, and set the hook when we felt a bite. If you are a beginner he is the captain to book! We looked at the reviews for the other captains on here, but Tyler had the best and I can see why! We had an awesome time and will be back for sure.
