About Your Trip
Step aboard with Captain Shane and Mate Hunter for a full day of offshore fishing with a seasoned team that knows how to put you on the bite. As a father-and-son duo with more than 12 years of experience fishing together, Shane and Hunter bring both skill and synergy to every trip. They've fished extensively from the East Coast to the Bahamas and boast a strong tournament record, giving you the confidence that you're in
good hands whether you're after big game or just out for a fun day on the water.
Your day begins on their 65’ custom Island Boat Works vessel, built in the Outer Banks and designed with both performance and comfort in mind. Powered by 3,100 HP from twin CAT engines, she’s quick to the fishing grounds and offers a smooth ride along the way. Inside, the boat features five air conditioning units, plenty of comfortable seating, and clean restrooms. There’s a refrigerator for your food and snacks, along with a large drink box on deck to keep your beverages cold and ready.
The boat is outfitted with advanced electronics, including Omni Sonar fish-finding technology, giving you a leg up in locating offshore species. Captain Shane’s offshore trips target a range of big game fish like Billfish, Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned angler, Shane and Hunter will adjust the trip to suit your experience level and fishing goals.
Trips depart at 5:30 AM and return between 4 and 5 PM, offering a full day on the water. All fishing licenses, permits, ice, and quality tackle are included. Just bring your own drinks, snacks or lunch, sunscreen, soft-soled shoes, any seasickness medication, and anything else you might want to stay comfortable. A beach towel and a change of clothes are good ideas if you plan to freshen up after the trip.
Glass bottles, coolers, and marking-soled shoes or work boots should be left at home — there’s plenty of onboard storage, and ice is provided. Fish cleaning can be arranged for a fee if you'd like to take your catch home.
Tipping the mate is customary — 15–20% is appreciated, as Mate Hunter puts in a long day, typically from 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM, and this is his full-time profession.
Up to six passengers are welcome (USCG regulation), and kids are encouraged — Shane and Hunter enjoy having families on board. Whether you're chasing your first offshore fish or adding another species to your list, this trip offers a solid day on the water with a crew who knows how to make it count.
