Fishing found me as a young boy on Okanagan Lake where I rowed my Lil’ Red Hootie boat for hours each summer day. Watching the sun rise, eagles soar, all the while hooking and reeling in endless trout on my line.

Throughout the seasons I had the privilege of being mentored by some of the finest fisherman. Learning the art of fly tying, while becoming a member of the Canadian Fly Fishing team. We showed well during international competitions and built life long friendships. Being involved was a solid anchor and incentive to keep my grades up, while teaching work ethic, patience and perseverance.

A day out in the water with Matt, You’ll be welcomed aboard a beautiful 21 foot Custom Weld jet boat. You will be fishing near the city of Mission on the Fraser River in British Columbia. It’s not a long ride to some of the best fishing grounds for White Sturgeon in the world!

Sturgeon are the main target but in the fall there can also be opportunities to fish for various species of salmon if interested.

White Sturgeon are the largest freshwater fish in North America and can grow up to 12 feet and over 600 pounds. Sturgeon can be caught 12 months of the year.

Matt is one of the youngest guides on the Fraser but don’t let that fool you… He’s known for consistently putting his guests on the fish. It is not uncommon to get double headers! Matt will always go an extra mile to get you a bite (or ten). Considering hes been fishing the Fraser since he was 5 he knows some of the most important tactics and baits to get these prehistoric monsters to bite.

Matt runs one of the most well put together outfitters on the Fraser river and can host anywhere from 1 to 40 guests.

When you hop on the boat everything will be provided for you. Matt has partnered with some of the leading companies in the fishing tackle/gear industry and you will be catching fish in style!

There are many different places to stay on your trip to mission and Matt can help you with that as well.

You’re definitely going to have sore arms after a day on the water!
