About Your Trip
Experience the best of British Columbia's wild west coast on this all-inclusive multi-day fishing adventure with Captain Ron and his team. Based from a comfortable floating waterfront lodge in Esperanza Inlet, you'll spend your days fishing some of Vancouver Island's most productive waters while enjoying cozy accommodations, home-cooked meals, and virtually everything you need for an incredible trip.
One of the biggest advantages of this experience is location. While many charters departing from Tahsis spend
over an hour running to the fishing grounds each morning, you'll be staying just 10 minutes from the action. That means more time with lines in the water and less time making long runs. Instead of burning daylight getting to the fish, you'll already be there, maximizing every opportunity to hook into salmon, halibut, lingcod, and rockfish.
Captain Ron spent years guiding the renowned waters of Haida Gwaii before searching the British Columbia coast for a destination that could match its legendary fishing while offering a longer season, fewer crowds, and more protection from rough offshore conditions. He found exactly that around Esperanza Inlet, where productive fisheries provide outstanding opportunities throughout the season.
You'll fish aboard a 28' Pursuit Offshore Express Fisherman, a purpose-built offshore vessel imported from Florida specifically for its outstanding ride and fishability. Powered by twin outboards with a 260-gallon fuel capacity and an extra-wide 10½-foot beam, the boat is equally comfortable making offshore runs to the famed "Salmon Highway" or fishing the protected inshore waters closer to home. Each day, Captain Ron will choose the best destination based on weather, conditions, and where the fish are biting.
Choose between approximately 30 hours of guided fishing over four days or 40 hours over five days, depending on your package. Your adventure begins with a 1:00 PM pickup from the Tahsis public dock, followed by a short transfer to your waterfront accommodations and roughly five hours of fishing that afternoon. The middle days feature approximately 10 hours on the water each day, giving you plenty of time to target Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pacific Halibut, Lingcod, and a variety of Rockfish. On your final morning, you'll enjoy one last five-hour fishing session before returning to Tahsis around noon.
This truly is an all-inclusive experience. Your package includes round-trip transportation from Tahsis, 3 or 4 nights of waterfront accommodations, hot breakfasts each morning, bagged lunches aboard the boat, chef-prepared dinners each evening, water, juice, coffee, and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout your stay. You're welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages if you'd like to relax after a day on the water.
Captain Ron provides all rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing equipment, though you're welcome to bring your favorite rod or lucky lure if you have one. At the end of each day, your catch will be professionally filleted and bagged, with optional vacuum sealing and flash freezing available for an additional fee to make transporting your fish home easy.
Whether you're looking to fill the freezer with fresh Pacific seafood, battle hard-charging salmon, reel up trophy halibut, or simply enjoy several unforgettable days immersed in one of Canada's most beautiful coastal settings, this trip offers the perfect blend of outstanding fishing, comfort, scenery, and hospitality.
