About Your Trip
Experience a Minnesota winter the way it was meant to be enjoyed with Captain Brandon! Whether you're brand new to ice fishing or already spend every winter waiting for the lakes to freeze, these 4 and 8-hour trips give you the chance to chase a variety of Minnesota freshwater species while learning different ways to fish through the ice.
Depending on the conditions and what's biting, you'll target Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Yellow
Perch, Sunfish, and other species. Tip-up fishing is one of Captain Brandon's specialties, and he doesn't limit tip-ups to Pike. Bass, Walleye, and even Panfish can all get in on the action. You'll also have opportunities to jig and fish inside the heated ice house, using sonar and an underwater camera to help locate fish and watch what's happening beneath your feet.
Choose a 4-hour trip for a great introduction to the fishery or settle in for a full 8-hour outing. Trips can accommodate up to 6 anglers, making this a great option for families and groups looking to experience a classic Minnesota winter tradition together.
Captain Brandon provides the rods, tip-ups, tackle, and bait you'll need. The ice house provides a warm and comfortable place to fish and shed some layers, but you'll still spend time outside tending tip-ups and traveling to and from the fishing area. Warm winter gear is therefore essential. Guests should arrive with insulated boots and warm socks, winter coats, hats, gloves, and plenty of layers. Safety comes first, and Captain Brandon reserves the right to turn away anyone who arrives without adequate cold-weather clothing.
Snacks and drinks may be provided depending on the outing, and on full-day trips Captain Brandon may arrange a warm cooked meal with your group ahead of time. Be sure to let him know about any food allergies in advance.
Ice fishing trips are entirely dependent on safe ice and weather conditions. Captain Brandon monitors conditions leading up to every outing and will communicate with your group as the date approaches. If conditions aren't safe enough to fish, he'll work with you to find another opportunity to get out.
Just make sure everyone in your group has a valid Minnesota fishing license, dress for the weather, and get ready for a true northern ice fishing experience!
