Deep Sea Duck

About Your Guide

Captain Kenny is a Pensacola native. He has been fishing and hunting the Florida Panhandle his entire life. As a boy he would walk with his cast net, fishing pole, and a 5 gallon bucket to fish the local waters every day after school. He would spend his weekends with his grandparents in Molino, Florida hunting and fishing the Escambia River. He has fished tournaments from local Bass clubs, Speckled Trout, Shark, King Mackerel fishing as well as the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo and does great. He was a deck hand on numerous boats in Orange Beach, then started commercial fishing and now he wants to share his knowledge and love of the outdoors with you and your family.

Captain Kenny currently holds a USCG 100 ton Captain’s License which requires numerous hours at sea, so rest assured your family is in safe hands with Captain Kenny. The Captain and his wife of 15 years have two sons that are following his foot steps. His passion for life is Family, Fishing, and Hunting depending on the season but no matter the season “we get ’em one way or another”.

trip description for Trolling and Bottom Fishing in Pensacola Beach

The Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola offers great opportunities for trolling when fishing offshore with Captain Kenny. We can troll along the coast or go deep sea trolling further offshore. Trolling for large free swimming predator species offers some of the most exciting fishing you can experience on a deep sea fishing trip. There is a wide variety of species we can target including Bonita (Little Tunny), Blackfin Tuna, Tarpon, Cobia, Kingfish (King Mackerel), Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks and even the occasional Wahoo and Dolphinfish (Mahi-Mahi). Bottom Fishing Pensacola’s Offshore Artificial Reefs. Every saltwater angler loves to bottom fish for Grouper, Snapper, Triggerfish and other bottom dwelling species when fishing offshore. Amberjacks can also be caught when fishing over the reefs. These hard fishing fish inhabit the waters over the reefs. Also known as reef donkeys due to their stubborn fighting nature, amberjacks are a favorite catch for anglers who love a good fight! Many other species inhabit these reefs including Sharks and Cobia! A big grouper caught on an offshore fishing charter in Pensacola with Captain Kenny Florida leads the nation in the creation of artificial reefs for great bottom fishing off its shores. This system of artificial reefs has proven to be a huge success for recreational fishing across the state of Florida. Artificial reefs can be found off the shores of nearly every Florida county that borders the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. Escambia and Santa Rosa counties (home to Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach and Perdido Key) have developed their own extensive systems of these highly productive man made reefs. The reefs consist primarily of ship wrecks and discarded, long lasting concrete structures such as culverts, pilings and bridge platforms. They are delivered to carefully selected sites by the barge load from anywhere from less than a mile to over 30 miles off the Florida coast. The hard, irregular surfaces of these discarded structures and ship wrecks provide outstanding habitat for tiny, bottom dwelling sea creatures such as coral, shellfish and crustaceans all the way up the food chain to highly prized species such as the many varieties of grouper and snapper and even sharks, barracudas, cobia and amberjacks. trip description for Bay and Gulf Hunts in Pensacola Beach

When it comes to hunting ducks, Pensacola is a special place! Perched on the western edge of the Atlantic Flyway, the Pensacola area offers a unique opportunity for duck hunters to encounter species common in the Atlantic as well as the Mississippi and Central Flyways to the west. Bluebills (Greater Scaups) and Wood Ducks, common residents of the Eastern Flyway as well as Redheads and Gadwalls (Gray Ducks), more common in the Mississippi and Central Flyways, can all be encountered on a duck hunting trip in the Pensacola area. The Pensacola area also offers the opportunity to hunt ducks commonly found in freshwater ponds such as Mallards, Teal and Wood Ducks as well as ‘sea ducks’ that are often found wintering in coastal bays and estuaries and in the Intracoastal Waterway such as Buffleheads and Bluebills.
