About Your Trip
Join Bobby for an unforgettable multi-day Chandeleur Islands fishing adventure, where remote barrier island waters, pristine flats, and nonstop light tackle action come together for one of the most unique fishing experiences on the Gulf Coast.
Your trip begins on Day 1 with departure from Ocean Springs harbor around lunchtime. From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic approximately 75-minute ride aboard a 32-foot Twin Vee as you head out toward the remote houseboat lodge. Upon arrival,
there is plenty of time to settle in, unpack, and begin fishing the surrounding waters right away. With fishable water just steps from your accommodations, you can start casting lines immediately and fish comfortably until dusk.
Over the next two days, you will experience full days of fishing in the incredibly productive waters surrounding the Chandeleur Islands. These barrier islands are known for their crystal-clear conditions, shallow flats, and outstanding visibility, making them a premier destination for sight fishing and light tackle enthusiasts. Days are flexible based on preference, allowing you to fish hard all day or return to the lodge for a break and a hot meal before heading back out.
Lunch options are designed to keep you on the water and maximize fishing time. Guests can choose to have a boat lunch packed for full-day fishing or return to the houseboat midday to relax, recharge, and enjoy the lodge before heading back out for the afternoon bite. The flexibility of this setup allows each group to customize their experience based on energy levels and fishing goals.
On the final day, you’ll enjoy a morning fishing session until approximately 10 AM before making the return trip back to Ocean Springs harbor, wrapping up an incredible multi-day offshore island experience.
During your stay, you will have access to brand-new 2023 16-foot ZCB Pelican poling skiffs powered by 25HP Suzuki engines with electric start and power trim and tilt. These skiffs are ideal for navigating shallow flats, stalking fish in skinny water, and reaching remote areas that larger boats cannot access. Whether poling quietly across grass flats or running between productive zones, these boats are built for versatility and precision in shallow coastal environments.
The houseboat lodge itself is a comfortable and functional floating setup made up of three connected wood-frame barges. The central barge serves as the bunkhouse, featuring four bunk rooms that sleep up to eight guests, along with an enclosed bathroom and shower. One adjacent barge houses the galley, where meals are prepared and served, along with a dedicated generator room. The third barge is home to crew quarters and a screened-in lounge area that provides a shaded, comfortable space for dining, relaxing, and enjoying time off the water. With 360-degree access and plenty of shaded seating areas, the lodge is designed for both comfort and convenience between fishing sessions.
The fishing in the Chandeleur Islands is widely regarded as some of the best light tackle action in the country. The clear water and abundant marsh structure create ideal conditions for sight fishing and consistent opportunities. Anglers can expect to target Speckled Trout and Redfish as primary species, with additional opportunities for Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Jacks, Cobia, and even seasonal Tarpon. The variety and quality of fish available make every cast an opportunity for something memorable.
Join Bobby for a multi-day Chandeleur Islands fishing experience where remote barrier island scenery, comfortable floating lodging, and world-class shallow water fishing combine for an unforgettable Gulf Coast adventure.
