For more than 10 years, Captain Tanner has specialized in offshore fishing charters out of Marco Island, Florida, delivering high-energy trips that range from 10 miles offshore all the way out to 100 miles into the deep Gulf. These extended runs allow access to productive waters that many operators simply don’t reach, giving anglers the chance to experience a true offshore adventure with a wide variety of targets.
Depending on conditions, season, and where the
bite is hottest, you may find yourself fishing nearshore structure early in the trip before pushing farther offshore in search of more remote and less-pressured waters. Captain Tanner’s goal is always the same: put anglers on active fish and keep lines in the water where the action is best.
Throughout the trip, anglers regularly encounter prized Gulf species such as Snapper, Grouper, Permit, and Cobia. These fish are known for both their strength and table quality, making them some of the most sought-after catches in the region. Whether you’re dropping baits to deep structure or sight fishing near floating debris and color changes, each stop offers the chance for a memorable hookup.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 2016 Cape Horn 31T, a 31-foot offshore machine designed for both performance and comfort. Powered by twin 300 Yamaha engines, the boat cruises at speeds up to 40 MPH, significantly reducing travel time and maximizing fishing time on the water. The wide layout provides plenty of room for up to six anglers to fish comfortably throughout the day.
The vessel comes fully equipped with rods, reels, tackle, bait, cooler, ice, and all required fishing licenses. Everything is prepared before you step on board, making for a seamless and hassle-free experience.
Just bring your favorite snacks and drinks, and Captain Tanner will handle the rest. From nearshore reefs to far offshore waters, this trip delivers a full-scale Gulf fishing experience out of Marco Island.
