About Your Trip
Spend a day exploring the productive inshore waters of Tampa Bay with Captain Guy, a lifelong local angler who has spent years learning the tides, flats, and backwaters that make this area one of Florida’s top fisheries. Whether you’re a seasoned angler looking to refine your approach or a family wanting to enjoy a fun day on the water, Captain Guy tailors each trip to match your experience level and goals.
Trips are available in
4, 6, or 8-hour options, giving you the flexibility to fish as long as you’d like while exploring Tampa Bay’s expansive flats, mangroves, and shallow grass beds. These waters support a wide range of popular inshore species including Redfish, Snook, Spotted Seatrout, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Black Drum and even the occasional Blacktip or Bull Shark.
Most of the fishing is done using light tackle in shallow water, a fun and effective way to target Tampa Bay’s hard-fighting inshore species. Captain Guy uses a mix of live bait, artificial lures, and other proven techniques depending on what the fish are feeding on that day. For experienced anglers, fly fishing is also an option, though guests should bring their own fly gear if they plan to fish that way.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 24’ bay boat designed for navigating the shallow waters and flats around Tampa Bay. The boat comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests and is equipped with essential fishing technology including GPS, fishfinder, a live bait well, and a wireless trolling motor to quietly approach fish in shallow water.
All rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait are included for the trip, featuring quality Bull Bay rods paired with Penn reels. The cooler is stocked with ice and bottled water, and you’re welcome to bring along additional drinks or snacks for the day.
These trips are family-friendly, and kids are always welcome aboard. Just let Captain Guy know ahead of time if young anglers will be joining so he can have youth-sized life jackets ready.
Another great perk—your fishing license is included with the charter, so you can simply show up ready to fish. If you decide to keep any legal fish, Captain Guy will gladly clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip.
Be sure to bring non-spray sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and comfortable clothing for the weather. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please avoid hard liquor and glass bottles while onboard.
With local knowledge, versatile fishing options, and some of Florida’s best inshore waters at your doorstep, Captain Guy is ready to show you what Tampa Bay fishing is all about.
