About Your Trip
Get out on Lake Erie with a seasoned tournament angler and chase some of the biggest Walleye these waters have to offer. Captain and his team bring years of competitive experience and a passion for teaching, making this trip a great mix of hands-on fishing and proven techniques that consistently produce fish.
The primary focus is Walleye, but depending on the season and conditions, you may also target Lake Trout and Yellow Perch. Most trips
center around trolling, which is one of the most effective ways to cover water and stay on active fish, with opportunities to mix in jigging or bottom fishing when the situation calls for it.
This is a great trip for anglers of all skill levels. Whether you want to sit back and enjoy the ride or actively learn the techniques used by a tournament-level angler, Captain is happy to tailor the experience. He enjoys teaching and will walk you through everything from setup to presentation, giving you the chance to hook and land fish on your own.
Half-day trips run 5+ hours and typically start around first light, while full-day trips run 8+ hours and allow more time to explore productive areas and dial in the bite. If the fishing is hot, don’t be surprised if you stay out a little longer—it’s hard to leave when the rods are still going off.
You’ll be fishing aboard a comfortable and spacious 28’ Baha Pilothouse, offering plenty of room to move around along with added protection from the elements. The boat is equipped with top-tier electronics, including GPS and fishfinder, along with a trolling setup designed specifically for targeting open-water species. A toilet onboard adds extra comfort for longer days on the water.
All rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait are included, and a first mate is on board to assist throughout the trip. At the end of the day, your catch will be cleaned and filleted so it’s ready to take home.
These trips are family-friendly and a great way to get kids out on the water, just be sure they have a properly fitting life vest. You’ll need to purchase a valid New York fishing license ahead of time, and it’s recommended to bring sunglasses, non-spray sunscreen, snacks, and drinks for the day. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid glass containers and hard liquor.
If you’re looking to learn from a proven angler, cover water efficiently, and put quality fish in the boat, this Lake Erie trip delivers a fun, productive day with a real shot at filling the cooler.
