About Your Trip
Experience some of the most productive waters on the West Coast with a multi-day fishing trip out of Port Hardy, located at the northern tip of Vancouver Island. These trips are built for anglers looking to maximize their time on the water, explore a variety of fisheries, and target multiple species across changing conditions.
With multiple days to work with, you’ll have the flexibility to fish different areas and adjust the plan based on tides,
weather, and where the bite is best. This is the ideal setup for targeting a wide range of species including salmon (Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Pink, and Chum), halibut, rockfish, crab, shrimp, and more.
The Experience
Each day is centered around proven techniques like trolling for salmon and jigging or bottom fishing for halibut and rockfish. With extended time on the water, you’ll be able to cover more ground, refine your approach, and take advantage of peak conditions as they develop.
These trips strike a balance between productive fishing and enjoying the remote beauty of the area. Port Hardy offers a true West Coast experience, with rugged shoreline, abundant wildlife, and consistently strong fishing opportunities.
The Boat & Setup
You’ll be fishing aboard a 26’ KingFisher, a comfortable and capable vessel designed for these waters. The boat is equipped with downriggers, modern electronics, a toilet, and a full cabin setup, making it well-suited for longer days on the water.
All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, so you can focus on fishing from the start.
What Sets It Apart
Captain Albert brings extensive local knowledge from years spent fishing these tides. His approach is flexible and hands-on, adjusting daily plans to keep you in the best position to succeed while keeping the experience approachable for all skill levels.
These trips are also family-friendly, making them a great option for groups looking to share time on the water together.
Good to Know
Fishing licenses are required and should be purchased ahead of time. Regulations and limits can vary by species, so it’s worth reviewing current guidelines before your trip.
You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks, along with essentials like sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and weather-appropriate clothing. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid glass bottles and hard liquor.
If you’re looking to fully immerse yourself in one of British Columbia’s top fisheries, a multi-day trip out of Port Hardy is hard to beat.
