About Your Trip
The rough timeline of the trip is 30 mins to an hour of getting geared up & ready. The dive will last about 2 hours. Lastly, the optional beach braai will last about 2 hours depending on weather etc.
Please organise with Rex beforehand with regards to transport. If you do not have your own, Rex is happy to organise at your own cost. As Rex will be travelling by motorbike.
For this specific dive,
there will not be a boat used for the shore dive. We will enter right off the coastline and into the water at locations that allow for this. We will be diving in the beautiful, thriving African kelp forest and its surrounding areas. The range of species we will target are huge. They include: Red Roman, Black Bream, Galjoen (Our national fish), mussel cracker, black tail, butter fish, yellowtail/kingfish/tropical amberjack, alikreukel, limpet, octopus, squid etc.
A Spearfishing license is required. Please speak to Rex to organise this. It is a small cost.
Rex, your guide, has been Spearfishing since 9 years old, in many countries over the world. He is happy to teach you all the techniques he knows about Spearfishing. You are welcome to test and try your own as well. However, remaining as relaxed as possible with no sudden movements, minimal eye contact with fish & an in general, calm demeanour will give you the optimum chance at hunting your own fresh seafood dinner.
What makes our experience so different is that we do not focus solely on the fish, we focus on the whole experience from getting into the water, to cooking the beautiful seafood. As an added extra we have an underwater photographer to film the whole experience. Based on conditions on the day we and where we dive, our experience includes a once in a lifetime braai on the beach. Cooking what we catch right in front of where we caught it. Accompanied by some beers & banter on the shore.
