About Your Trip
Get ready for a world-class fishing adventure with Captain Ryan on the mighty Fraser River—home to one of the best sturgeon fisheries on the planet. Available year-round, this trip offers the chance to hook into prehistoric white sturgeon that can stretch from 1 to 11 feet long, with peak fishing from April through November. Whether you’re planning a day out with friends, a family adventure, or a corporate outing, this is the kind of experience
that leaves you with big smiles, sore arms, and stories you’ll be telling for years.
Captain Ryan and his team are full-time professional guides who live and breathe this fishery. With decades of experience on British Columbia’s Fraser River and its tributaries, they know how to put you on fish—even during the so-called “non-peak” months. During the spring eulachon run (March through May), the lower river lights up with feeding sturgeon, and it’s not uncommon to land 6–10 fish per outing, with some days seeing 20+ hook-ups. In late summer and fall, millions of salmon return to spawn, drawing in monster sturgeon that gorge on the seasonal bounty. This is when your chances are highest for catching a true giant—fish in the 9–11 foot range are entirely possible.
You’ll fish from custom-built aluminum jet boats with full enclosures, heaters, and the latest safety equipment—ensuring a comfortable ride no matter the season. Top-tier tackle is standard, including Penn International reels, Shimano Technium rods, and 150-lb braided Power Pro line. These setups are designed specifically for the kind of heavy-duty action sturgeon are known for—powerful runs, high jumps, and arm-wrenching fights.
The crew provides everything you need: rods, reels, tackle, bait, and even rain gear if needed. The only thing you need to bring is appropriate clothing for the weather, a valid fishing license, and your lunch (though we can help with that, too—just let us know ahead of time).
Our departure points vary based on season and fish activity to give you the best possible shot at success. Trips can launch from Coquitlam, Mission, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack, Harrison, and across the greater Fraser Valley. If you need help with transportation or lodging, we’re happy to assist.
Whether it’s your first time targeting sturgeon or you're a returning angler chasing a new personal best, this is more than just a fishing trip—it’s a full-on experience. Our guides aren’t part-time or seasonal. This is what we do, year-round. We take pride in the fishery, our service, and the memories we help create on the water.
