About Your Trip

Join Captain Sean for a seasonal fly fishing adventure on the legendary white bass run above Lake Whitney, one of North Texas’ most exciting freshwater migrations. This annual run brings fast-paced action and a unique opportunity to target multiple species in a scenic river environment, combining both boat and wade fishing for a dynamic day on the water.

Guests will meet Captain Sean at Hamm Creek Park near Rio Vista before launching into the Brazos
River aboard an 18-foot center console boat. From there, the trip flows upriver in search of actively feeding fish, with stops along productive stretches where conditions are right for both casting from the boat and wading the shoreline.

The primary target during this seasonal run is White Bass, known for their aggressive strikes and strong schooling behavior that can lead to fast, steady action when conditions line up. In addition to White Bass, anglers may also encounter Striped Bass and Largemouth Bass, adding variety and excitement throughout the day. Each stretch of water offers something different, from moving current seams to calmer pools where fish stack up during their migration.

Captain Sean specializes in fly fishing techniques tailored to river conditions, helping guests make the most of every opportunity whether they are experienced fly anglers or trying it for the first time. All necessary tackle can be provided, making this an easy and accessible trip for anyone looking to experience fly fishing on moving water.

Ice and water are provided on the boat to keep guests comfortable throughout the day. Full-day trips also include lunch, allowing anglers to stay energized while spending more time focused on fishing.

This is a highly seasonal, action-driven trip that showcases one of the most exciting freshwater fisheries in Texas. Join Captain Sean for a memorable day chasing the white bass run on the Brazos River.
