Originally from California’s Central Valley, Mitchell now calls Minnesota home, where he’s spent nearly a decade exploring and learning the region’s rivers, lakes, and backcountry creeks. He brings that local knowledge, a teacher’s heart, and a love for the outdoors to every outing.

New to fly fishing? Seasoned with a 5-weight? Either way, you’ll get patient instruction, an easygoing vibe, and a dialed-in day on the water.

Join me, just outside of the twin cities, for some of the best smallmouth fishing there is! Smallmouth are an incredible fish to catch on a fly rod and we are lucky enough to have an amazing fishery here around the Twin Cities.

Trips are generally within 15-60 minutes drive time of downtown Minneapolis and once on the water, it feels like you are a world away. Beautiful scenery and great fishing, it doesn’t get much better!

We will start our float at one of many boat launches along the Mississippi River and will float down river our designated take out point. As we get within days of the trip, I will come up with the final plan depending on the trips duration and conditions recently and let you know.
