I’m Chad Shoemake, owner and guide specializing in chasing trophy brown trout on Arkansas’s legendary White River below Bull Shoals Dam.

My passion isn’t just catching trout — it’s hunting the giants that call the White River home. I specialize in targeting big, aggressive brown trout, especially after dark when some of the river’s largest predators come out to feed.

Whether we’re throwing big streamers, working topwater mouse patterns, or casting artificial lures, my goal is to give every client the opportunity to experience the thrill of hooking into a true trophy brown trout.

I focus on Friday and Saturday night trophy trips, using different techniques and adapting to river conditions to give anglers their best shot at the fish of a lifetime.

I’m not about catching the most fish — I’m about chasing the right fish.

How did you get started guiding?

It turned from an intense hobby into people asking for me to take them. I like seeing people smile and meeting new people and going on the adventures at night.

What makes you different from other guides?

There are all kinds of great guides over there they live there fish it daily and know it better than I do. I have an extreme work ethic that has led me thru life. I will not be outworked. I have learned quick and adjust quickly to different conditions. My work ethic has always set me apart and always will.

Experience the thrill of chasing trophy brown trout after dark on Arkansas’s legendary White River! Our specialty is targeting giant brown trout, including fish exceeding 20 pounds, on one of the most famous trophy trout fisheries in the country. These exclusive Friday and Saturday night adventures are designed for anglers looking for the opportunity to catch the brown trout of a lifetime.

Your adventure takes place on the White River below Bull Shoals Dam, fishing some of the river’s most productive trophy brown trout waters. We’ll navigate the river aboard our Double XX jet boat powered by a Tohatsu outboard, allowing us to reach prime fishing locations. Trips begin in the evening and continue into the nighttime hours, when big predatory brown trout often become more aggressive. Fishing locations and techniques are adjusted based on water generation, river conditions, seasonal patterns, and fish activity.

We specialize in multiple techniques for targeting monster brown trout, including spin fishing, fly fishing, streamer fishing, swimbaits, and topwater mousing. Whether you’re casting large streamers, working artificial lures, or experiencing the explosive strike of a giant brown trout attacking a mouse pattern on the surface, our goal is to give you an unforgettable fishing experience. Trips can be customized to your experience level and preferred fishing style. Trophy brown trout are our primary target, with opportunities to catch quality rainbow trout along the way.
