A stop at the bait patch is also necessary as you will be fishing your way out to the deep water; for these Swordfish trips, you will head offshore up to 30 miles. On top of chasing Swords, you can also have opportunities for Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, and maybe even a Marlin on this trip as well. Once you get out to their swordfish spot, your Captain will deep drop one line then drift along the ledge for up to 1 hour at a time. Your Captain will make as many drifts as time will allow and you will fish our way back to shore. Swordfishing is a very patient process. But the rewards are well worth it! So head way offshore with Captain Tyler to drop cut baits down hundreds of feet to hook into some delicious bottom fish like Tilefish, Warsaw Grouper, Wreck Fish, and others! Be prepared for a long boat ride out to the fishing grounds as these deep drop shelves are usually miles offshore. Fish till your heart's content and pop iguanas with Captain Mike's Airgun's along the way on this full day Peacock Bass/Iguana hunt Combo trip with Captain Mike down in Fort Lauderdale. Peacock Bass are gorgeous prize fish that battle hard on the line, which should make for an exciting adventure! And any Egyptian geese you see along the way are fare game to shoot as well! You’ll be fishing aboard John’s 17’ Carolina skiff that accommodates up to 3 anglers. She is powered by a 30 HP Mercury engine and a wireless trolling motor. This motor is extremely quiet, which makes it easier to sneak up on those easily spooked fish.
