About Your Trip

Hop aboard with Captain Mike and his team for a bottom fishing adventure that delivers big fish, nonstop action, and unforgettable memories for anglers of all ages!

Whether you're booking a 6-hour, 8-hour, or going all-in on a 10-hour offshore expedition, these trips are built for excitement—and fully customizable depending on what you're looking to catch. Morning and afternoon departures are available, giving you the flexibility to plan your day your way.

These trips primarily
focus on bottom fishing, where you'll be dropping down for hard-hitting species like Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Vermilion Snapper, Amberjack, and Almaco Jack. But if you're stepping up to the 10-hour trip, get ready for even more rod-bending variety—with plenty of time to bottom fish and also troll offshore for pelagic bruisers like Wahoo, King Mackerel, and Blackfin Tuna. There’s also the potential for Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Sailfish, and even Blacktip Sharks, depending on the season and sea conditions.

You’ll be fishing from a powerful 37’ Topaz sportfishing vessel, built for serious offshore action and comfort alike. Outfitted with outriggers, downriggers, radar, GPS, a fishfinder, and a live bait well, this boat has everything needed to find the bite. Inside, you’ll enjoy a marine toilet, air conditioning, a refrigerator, kitchen, and even bunks for longer hauls. There's also a flybridge for panoramic views, and the vessel is wheelchair accessible, making it easy to bring everyone along for the ride.

Captain Mike and Captain Josh work together to run these top-tier trips, sharing years of experience fishing these waters. They’re joined by First Mate Ron, a seasoned pro with over 12 years of deckhand experience who’s not only an expert at rigging and gaffing but also fantastic with first-timers and kids. A 10–20% tip for the mate is customary and always appreciated for the hard work put into making your trip successful.

Families are welcome and encouraged—just be sure to ask ahead if child-sized life jackets are available, or bring your own to ensure the little anglers stay safe and comfortable. Feel free to bring snacks, lunch, and drinks to keep everyone fueled up. Alcohol is allowed in moderation (just no hard liquor or glass bottles, please).

Your trip includes everything you need to fish: rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait—plus your fishing license is covered for everyone onboard. Just bring along non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, bottled water, and your sense of adventure.

From inshore ledges to deepwater wrecks, and trolling runs across bluewater edges, Captain Mike and Captain Josh are here to help you make the most of your time on the water. So grab your crew!

the trip was fine. it wasnt great. it wasnt bad. we had nearly a half hour boat ride to get to the spot he wanted to fish and a half hour boat ride to get back. so right
there we lost 25% of our time to fish, only leaving 3 hours. we did not fish any other spots. stayed in one place. we caught about a half a dozen fish that we could keep and clean.

there were 6 of us total. 3 dads and 3 boys. the price before any type of tip was $875. Naturally we left a tip bringing the total to $1000. it was a fine trip, but unfortunately, i have to say it was not worth $1000 to fish for three hours off of the Jetty's at shell island. We had a decent time, but it was a little under-whelming.
