About Your Trip

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the Nature Coast with Captain Casey, where the shallow waters of Crystal River offer some of the best inshore fishing on the entire Gulf Coast. Whether you're a seasoned angler looking to stalk tailing Redfish on the flats or bringing the kids out for a fun day catching fish in one of Florida’s most scenic backdrops, Captain Casey has a trip designed just for you.

Crystal River is
a shallow-water paradise, and that means easy access to big opportunities. You'll be targeting prized inshore species like Redfish and Snook—two of the area’s most iconic fish. Redfish love cruising the grass flats in schools or tailing in skinny water, offering exciting sight-casting opportunities. Snook are often found stacked up along mangroves and oyster bars, and when they hit—they hit hard. Depending on the season, you may also come across Speckled Trout, Flounder, or even the occasional Tarpon.

Captain Casey runs both full and half-day trips, and departure times may shift a bit to match the tides—which means you'll always be fishing under the best possible conditions. Whether you prefer using live bait or want to challenge yourself with artificial lures, Casey can dial in the approach to suit your style and experience level. He works with anglers of all backgrounds, from first-timers to technical fishers looking to sharpen their game.

This is a true year-round fishery, and the local wildlife makes the trip even more memorable—manatees, dolphins, and a stunning variety of birds often make appearances as you fish.

All necessary fishing licenses and permits are included, and you’re more than welcome to keep anything that’s in season and within legal limits. Captain Casey will make sure your catch is cleaned and ready for the dinner table.

He operates a Coast Guard licensed and fully insured vessel, and prides himself on offering a safe, professional, and family-friendly experience. Kids are more than welcome aboard, and Captain Casey loves helping the next generation of anglers discover the thrill of fishing.

Independent Guide
Get ready to fish the legendary waters of Crystal River with Captain Casey—a lifelong outdoorsman whose journey from the Outer Banks to Florida’s Nature Coast is nothing short of inspiring. Originally from Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Captain Casey grew up with saltwater in his veins. As a kid, the end of Avalon Fishing Pier wasn’t just his hangout—it was his bus stop. It was here he cut his teeth alongside some of the best anglers on the East Coast, soaking in technique and passion with every cast. By 16, he was already working as a first mate, thriving in the fast-paced world of Outer Banks charter fishing and locking in a dream that would shape the rest of his life.

After earning a degree in Marine Technology from Cape Fear Community College—with hands-on studies taking him all the way to the Bahamas—Casey dove headfirst into full-time fishing, spending seven years on the back deck of the renowned sportfisher Fistful. Chasing everything from Bluefish to giant Blue Marlin, he mastered the cockpit and built lifelong relationships with clients who quickly became more like family. When the time came to chart his own course, he followed his instincts—and the fish—south.

Now based in Crystal River, Florida, Captain Casey has found a new kind of paradise. From Redfish in the mangroves to Speckled Trout and Snook in the shallows—not to mention summer scalloping—he’s dialed into everything this unique fishery has to offer. While he may not be a native Floridian, you'd never know it once you’re on the water with him. His deep knowledge, high energy, and relentless drive to put fish in the boat mean every trip is packed with action.
