About Your Trip

Looking for the perfect mix of hands-on fishing, dolphin watching, and family fun? Climb aboard with Captain Cory for an unforgettable day on the water that’s tailor-made for kids and parents alike! With over 10 years of professional guiding experience—and a lifetime spent fishing these waters—Captain Cory brings patience, enthusiasm, and a real knack for teaching young anglers the ropes.

This trip is all about creating exciting, educational, and confidence-building moments for kids of all
ages. From the moment you leave the dock, your crew will be fully engaged in the experience. You’ll start by learning how to throw a cast net and catch live bait—an adventure in itself! Then it’s on to the basics of rigging, baiting hooks, and mastering the art of safely catching and releasing a variety of local fish species that call the Lowcountry waters home.

Captain Cory is a natural with children, taking time to explain each step in a way that’s fun, safe, and encouraging. And for those brave junior captains onboard, he may even let them take the wheel (under his careful supervision, of course) for a truly unforgettable memory at sea.

But the excitement doesn’t stop with fishing! As you cruise through the creeks and coastal estuaries, keep your eyes peeled for Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins swimming nearby. It’s not uncommon to spot a few—or even a pod—surfacing and playing alongside the boat. You’ll also see an array of birds and other wildlife that make this area such a vibrant ecosystem.

This is a laid-back, interactive adventure designed to entertain and educate. Whether your crew is brand new to fishing or just wants to enjoy a lighthearted day on the water, this trip is a guaranteed hit. Captain Cory’s family fun trips are known for inspiring a love of fishing, nature, and the outdoors—and for sending everyone home with big smiles and even better stories.

Pack your favorite snacks, bring along a drink or two, and get ready for a day of hands-on fun, dolphin sightings, and lasting family memories with Captain Cory!

Captain Cory moved to Hilton Head Island from the West coast in 1987 and immediately fell in love with the coastal waters and estuaries of the Lowcountry. Soon after arrival, his father purchased a 24ft. Chris-Craft Caravelle and the saltwater adventures began! For the first time, Cory’s love of nature and the outdoors was put into high gear, by seeing dolphins, manatees, turtles and many species of birds and fish. Having grown up in Oregon, it was like moving to another planet with so much to learn and learn he did! Throwing the cast net, fishing, surfing and communing with the sea and all her creatures, soon became his passion.

Cory is a family man and enjoys teaching the youth about ocean appreciation and Hilton Head's natural wonders. With over three decades of experience on local waters, you would be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, entertaining, friendly and fun loving guide!
