About Your Trip

Join Chris for a unique opportunity to experience Florida's nuisance alligator management program in northern St. Johns County. Departing at 10:00 AM, this trip offers a behind-the-scenes look at an important part of Florida's wildlife management efforts. As a state-contracted nuisance alligator trapper, Chris conducts these trips under nuisance alligator permits issued by the State of Florida.

During the trip, you'll accompany Chris as he responds to active nuisance alligator permits and works to safely capture alligators using approved methods. This hands-on experience gives you the opportunity to observe and assist throughout the process while learning how nuisance alligator removals are conducted.

No prior experience is necessary. This trip welcomes participants of all experience levels, and Chris will explain the process and answer questions along the way. Young participants are welcome, making this a good option for families interested in learning more about Florida's wildlife management program together.

Depending on the size of the alligator and state regulations, captured alligators may be released or sold alive. If you choose to keep a legal alligator, Chris can arrange to have it processed. In that case, the alligator will be humanely euthanized, tagged for transport in accordance with Florida regulations, and prepared for processing.

Most of the hunt takes place along pond banks, so we recommend wearing sturdy, weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Please bring lunch, along with any drinks you'd like for the day, as meals are not provided. You may also want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and any other personal items you'd like to have with you during the trip.

Whether you're interested in learning more about Florida's nuisance alligator management program or taking part in the capture process, this trip offers the opportunity to spend time in the field alongside a licensed professional while seeing how nuisance alligator removals are conducted.

Most of the hunt takes place along pond banks, so we recommend wearing sturdy, weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. You may also want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and any other personal items you'd like to have with you during the trip.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
