About Your Trip

Every trip is customized to fit each client’s goals and expectations. We work together to create the best possible experience—but on the water, Mother Nature always has the final say. Because conditions are constantly changing, we stay flexible and adjust our tactics to match what she gives us.

Different fishing techniques shine in different conditions. Some work best in a strong current, others when the water is calm. Certain approaches are ideal for rough seas,
while others require flatter conditions. We begin every trip prepared for anything Mother Nature throws our way.

When the current is moving, we typically anchor on the reef and fish cut bait on the bottom for snapper, grouper, sharks, and more, while also freelining live bait on the surface for kingfish, sailfish, mahi, tuna, and other pelagic species.

In slower current, we often head deeper in search of more exotic species such as silky snapper, vermilion snapper, yellowedge grouper, and blackbelly rockfish. During deep-dropping—often with electric reels—it’s not uncommon for mahi to swim right up to the boat.

Rougher conditions are often when live bait really shines. Sailfish, mahi, tuna, and kingfish love a little chop. In these conditions, we’ll drift live baits with up to five rods in the water at a time.

Trolling can work in almost any condition—and while it may not be my personal favorite, I’m always happy to do whatever it takes to keep my crew smiling and put fish in the boat.
